Dru's Perspective
Something was off. As I paced in my room, i could feel Nat growing more and more anxious. Finally, she snapped. "Dru! What is op with you? You've been pacing since after dinner!"
As i faced her, a look of realization struck her. "Something's happening." She stood off the bed and headed toward the door. "I'll get Christophe."
The last thing i needed was Christophe right now. *Ever since Graves had left the Schola Prima, Christophe had been constantly checking up on me, and it was starting to bug me a little.
As soon as the door closed behind Nat, I saw it.
The black sedan rolled through the gates, stealthy against the already darkening sky. I grabbed the dagger from the bedside table, ready for action.
It turns out, the dagger wasn't needed.
As the car slowed to a stop, i saw the person in the backseat, and suddenly i was running, flying through the corridors towards the tall boy closing the car door behind him.
His dark hair was still as crazy as ever, green eyes as piercing as i remembered. The old trench coat still hung off his shoulders, recent repair jobs obvious on the dark material. His smile was the one thing that broke me out of the trance.
It was as if the last six months had never happened.
It was as if he'd never left.
Graves smiled. "Hey there, Drusilla."
The grin fell from my face. "How the hell did you find that one out?"
"There's a little thing back in the human world, and it's called the Internet."
I'll admit it; i laughed.
I flung my arms around him, breathing in the smell of wolf, and pine needles, and Graves.
He's really here, I thought. He really was. He laughed as he held me there, and i thought that maybe, after everything that had ever happened between us, he'd truly forgiven me this time.
"Thank you." I whispered into his shoulder.
"For what?"
I smiled into his coat as the tears started to fall. "For coming back."
"Don't worry, Dru-girl. First one's free."
