Mr. Eko's Funeral
By: 4everLOST, or Erin
WARNING: Major Spoilers for 3.05, the Cost of Living
Summary: Okay, this is what Mr. Eko's funeral is like in my head. AU, because soon the next episode will be out, and this will be completely irrelevant, because they will probably do his funeral properly in the next episode.
It was sad. It was beautiful. At the head of the grave, there was Eko's Jesus stick tied to another stick to make a cross. He was lying in the hole near the other dead ones. The grave had been dug by Locke, the last person Eko saw before his death.
You're next. What did it mean? Next to die? Next to be confronted by the monster? Next. They won't know until it happens. And by then, it will be too late. Too bad.
Locke spoke about the great man lying dead in the sand before them.
"Mr. Eko was a king among men. Did you know he was a priest? He was strong and quiet. Nobody really knew him too well. He was one of the Tailies." This reminded people of Ana-Lucia and Libby. They all turned to Bernard, the only Tailie left in the group of survivors.
Next Charlie spoke.
"I guess I probably spent the most time with Eko. We were building a church. I'm going to continue building it in his honor. I think Eko would have wanted that. Like John said, he was more of the strong and silent type. We didn't talk much, but he was kind and dedicated." He did not mention how Eko had abandoned him to push the button in the Hatch, but really, it was for the best. If he had succeeded, he probably wouldn't have died. "We will miss you, Father Eko."
With that, everyone threw a handful of sand into the grave, and walked away. Locke and Charlie stayed behind to fill the grave. When they were finished, they turned and left, leaving Eko dead in the ground.
Okay, that's it. My second fanfic. I'm sure pretty much anyone else could have done it better, but it didn't seem like anyone had acknowledged Eko's death yet, so I had to write it. I mean, it didn't even hit me that hard. I was kind of like hm, what do you know, Eko's dead. What a surprise. At least that's one death off their death quota. There is hope yet for Charlie! At first, I didn't think I would put Charlie in it, but then it only made sense, so I simply had to.
Thanks, don't forget to read and review, you know, if you want to. Pretty please. I live on reviews.
