Prologue
"Bella can you please tell us what inspired your new book "Heart's Aflame" A reporter asked.
"As a writer I try to create a world we the readers could get lost in, a fantasy if you will. Everything I say comes from my heart, and my imagination well this story is not from fiction its real. Everything I'm about to tell you has happened over a span of 79 years."
"Could you please explain Ms. Swan" A fan asked from the audience.
"I'm 79 I was born in Fork, Washington in 1930, I've seen it all, and done I've done it all". I coughed as my throat began to get scratchy.
I remember everything and everyone, only one person could make me break all my rules, biggest regret him. As the years passed and lovers passed quickly from my bed night after night he was the only one to remain in my heart, to touch that special place that most people didn't get to see.
"Mrs. Swam?" The reporter asked.
"I think my great- grandmother is tired" Carmen said "We can continue this tomorrow".
"No problem". He said.
As everyone began to clear out I was left to reflect on my life, its highs, lows and the in betweens. As my great-granddaughter took me home, I walked into my office and began to write a note to her.
"As I told the reporter this story is about my life, how it should have been, could have been, if I took that leap of faith and thought with my heart, and not my head. I could have had passion, love, and romance instead I was in a marriage of pure admiration, security, and wealth. This story allows me to relive my life through the book, to get my second chance."
I called Carmen to take me to bed when I was finished. She walked me to my room as she did every night and tucked me in.
"Grand- mother what story do you want to read tonight".
"This one" I said handing her the book.
'Your life's story, okay no problem" she smiled.
As she sat comfortable in the chair in front of me and began to read, I closed my eyes and let her soothing voice drift over me.
"Back as long as I can remember I had a dream its........................."
What do you think. This is my newest story and I hope you like it.
