Madeline Lynn watched the mercury climbing in the thermometer from her chaise lounge next to the pool. The day seemed custom made for her. After waking up obscenely late she'd spent her morning working on her article for the Franklin and listening to The Calling in her room. After a light lunch she'd donned her lavender bikini and stretched out on the very chaise lounge she was on now. She hadn't moved since, and she had no intention of moving for a good ten more minutes. All in all the day was putting her in a very jovial mood.

The phone ringing broke her mind away from the mercury as she reached for the cordless sitting on the wrought iron table next to her. She clicked the talk button and held it up to her ear, "Lynn residence."

It was Paris, Madeline sighed and cradled the phone with her shoulder. She half listened to her friend as she reached for her lemonade. "So I was wondering if we could hold it there," Paris was saying.

Madeline wasn't exactly sure what she'd been talking about but that didn't stop her, "Uh, yeah sure I guess. Today right?"

"Yes, today." Paris said irritably. Paris thought Madeline had a low intellect when really, it was just sheer boredom from listening to her go on.

"So what time, and how many people?"

"In an hour, and it'll be Me, Louise, You, Brad, Chip, Linda, Elton and Rory."

So it was a meeting, and judging by the names mentioned, it was about the student body. "Okay I'll be ready," Madeline said. As she hung up she settled back into her lounger thinking of all the student bodies she wouldn't mind handling.

An hour later she was startled out of watching a plane wing it's way across the sky as Louise Grant walked across the granite patio towards her.

"Hey Louise."

"Madeline."

"Is anyone else here?"

"No I was first."

"Good. I spaced for a few moments there. Would you mind telling Eloise that everyone can be shown into the drawing room while I change?"

"No problem."

Louise sauntered back through the sliding glass doors as Madeline scooped up the phone and her lemonade. Inside, she set her glass on the kitchen's island before hurrying up to her room. She pulled a yellow cotton sundress over her head and went back downstairs. She paused in the doorway to the drawing room where Louise sat with Paris, Brad and Linda. "Can I get you guys something to drink?"

They all tossed out their drink requests as the door bell rang. Madeline walked towards it dismissing Eloise the maid, saying she'd answer it. She opened the door to reveal Rory Gilmore standing there. "Hi Rory!"

"Hi Madeline."

"Come on in," Madeline gestured, "I was just about to get the others something to drink."

"Do you want some help?"

"Sure."

Rory followed Madeline to the kitchen.

Madeline opened the refrigerator door and pulled out two bottles of spring water, "We have water, Coke, and Lemonade. What would you like?"

"Lemonade is fine."

"Okay," Madeline answered with a smile. She set the spring water on the island and pulled a coke out of the fridge, she set that next to the water. She then pulled out a medium metal keg. Rory eyed it as Madeline filled her half full glass with ice, and a fresh glass for Rory as well.

"Um, Madeline. I don't think Paris would appreciate you breaking out a keg at this meeting?"

"Huh?" Madeline asked. Rory gestured to the keg. "Oh no," Madeline said, "It's lemonade! It stays colder this way."

"Oh," Rory said with a nod, watching Madeline fill their glasses. When she was done they gathered up the drinks and began walking back to the drawing room, laughing as they went.
