"Lumos."

The tip of Angelina's wand sparked into a glow as she walked through the bedroom that Fred had used, in the small apartment above Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. The room that once buzzed with energy and life was now dark and dank, due to the destruction that Voldemort and his Death Eaters had previously caused.

Her wandlight illuminated an old newspaper clipping that was stuck to the wall; a picture of his family on holiday in Egypt. They were all wearing thin flannel robes and wearing turbans had hats, and were standing in front of the great pyramid. However, Angelina couldn't spare any thought to the other Weasley's in the picture - her attention was set solely on Fred.

He had his arm loosely around George, and was grinning and laughing into the camera. It hadn't been that long since he had died, but Angelina was sure that she'd forgotten what it looked like to see Fred smile. She reached out for the clipping, wondering absently if the Weasley's would mind if she took this one small scrap, this tiny little memory of the infectious smile that had so often graced his features...

She sighed as her fingers scrabbled uselessly along the frayed edges of the paper. It was glued fast, with a permanent sticking charm no doubt.

"He had a knack for doing that," a familiar voice sounded from behind her. "Stuck everything within reach of me down since he was able to use magic."

Angelina turned to face George, her eyes brimming with tears. It hurt her so much to see an essential reflection of the man she loved, but she knew deep down that it must hurt him much more.

"What are we meant to do?" she asked George, her voice a whisper. "Everyone looks - everyone asks so many questions...I don't know how we're supposed to just carry on."

George stepped forward, and tentatively wrapped his arms comfortingly around Angelina. She hesitated momentarily, but then buried her face into his chest, releasing the tears that she had been choking back.

"Just smile and nod, my friend," he replied, pressing his lips chastely to her dark hair. "Just smile and nod."
