Snow.
She was standing on the edge of the veranda, the door wide open. She stretched one arm out into the night, watching the snow fall down straightly and feeling the soft tingle as the big fluffy flakes melted on her palm. She didn't care that the cold air could enter into the living room. She didn't care that she had nothing on exept a thin silken yukata. Of course she felt the cold, but she ignored it, not wanting to stop watching the snow. Slowly she withdrew her hand and crossed both arms under her bosom. The sight was beautiful. She saw the lawn, the trees and everything outside get covered with snow, so that it all seemed to be clad in a white mantle. She looked up into the sky: it was grey, yet not dark and fearsome, but light and somehow comforting. The scenery was peaceful and absolutely nothing could be heared. The snow slowly began to change. It no longer fell in soft, big flakes but instead they were very small and almost like rain, falling down in vertical lines.
A smile started to spread on her face. She was happy. She didn't know why, exactly, but she was nonetheless. The sight before her was a bit frightening even if she didn't know why exactly, but it made the world look as if it were asleep and silent. And that thought made her feel at ease. What had been was now forgotten. Past pain and troubles buried deep for at least some peaceful minutes.
She started as two strong arms sneaked around her, pulling her against a hard and musular chest. A sweet kiss was placed on her neck, sending a shiver down her spine. She turned her head and looked into bright amber and very sleepy eyes. She smiled.
"What's up, honey?" he asked. She turned and wrapped her arms around him, giving him a tight hug.
"Nothing. Just watching..." she mumbled into his strong chest that was equally only covered with a thin sleeping yukata. She kissed him onto his collarbone before resting her head against him once again. He caressed her back for some minutes, and just enjoyed standing there with her like this. Still, he was well aware of the fact that it was winter and just had started to snow.
"Come on, sweetheart, let's go back to bed." he suggested, taking her hands in his. They were cold. "How long have you been standing here? You must be freezing!" Worry was resonant in his vioce, which she so loved with it's deep and somewhat husky tone. "Come, I'll warm your feet once we're back to bed..." he said, draging her with him after he had shut the door, locking out the cold.
She snuggleg up to him, her feet resting on his, just as he had promised he'd let her do. She looked up into his beautiful eyes, her gaze wandering down from the crescent moon on his forhead, to the double stripes marking his cheeks and finally to his oh so kissable lips that curled into a loving smile. She leaned forward and touched them with hers in a feather-light kiss. As she wanted to pull back he held her in place with one of his hands in her neck, capturing her seams into a more passionate kiss. When they parted they looked into each other's eyes.
"I love you, my Sesshoumaru." she whispered against his lips, catching them once more in a kiss. He eagerly returned it before he answered.
"I love you too, my Rin." She snuggled back up to him, her head resting on his chest once more. Slowly, sleep washed over the two.
