I know everyone is waiting for an update to my other Hei x Lucy story, but things are getting in the way, such as college. And occasionally, I do feel like writing some short prompts every now and then when bored. Hopefully you guys will enjoy this stuff while I get the energy to continue the other fic. Believe me, that WILL be finished. Or may I be beaten to a pulp.
Also, these will be terribly short, so I am sorry for that. And no crossover either this time around, so I am the one writing...be very afraid people. Be very afraid!
Disclaimer: I do not own Elfen Lied or Darker Than Black.
Prompt 1: Rain and Thunder
Lucy hated thunderstorms, any storm really. Watching them had been entertaining at times, lightning cracking and piercing the night sky, all while the rain helped mimic her own emotions, but out here, where her clothes were now stuck to her and panic had swept through her? This was the one time she dread it. Wind picked up, forcing her back as her hair flew before her face. The situation was getting out of hand really quickly. Eyes were unfocused, head moving with sight as she blindly sought her objective. Anything right now was better than this cold and heavy rain weighing down her body.
She wanted to go home. That desire would not leave her. Just turn back and go, away from this nightmare of travel. Even with thoughts like this, she grit her teeth, still walking through the street and searching for what she had lost. Chills ran up her body, the temperature not making this any easier. It hurt, but not enough to bring tears. She refused to cry over something like this. Not when she had been so close...
"Masaru!" she shouted, passing another corner, only to find nothing but darkness to greet her. A flash shot across the sky, just as a hand touched her shoulder. Reflex sprung, and she moved back. Ghostly hands shifted with the air, intent to kill almost automatic.
All until she had a familiar face, eyes widening with shock, especially at the ball of black fuzz that was Masaru in his arm, an umbrella in the other hand. How he did it, she did not know, but staring at the two of them, she quickly calmed down, and bowed her head, frowning. She really did hate feeling like this, feeling so inferior in front of this man, this human. Contractor he may be, there was no denying his dissatisfaction, and her envy.
Soon enough, she found an arm draped around her, face growing hotter from such a touch. Staring at her side, she found the smallest of smiles on his face, and all she could do was stare as his lips opened, saying words she wanted to hear.
"Let's go home, Lucy."
And for that time, she let her weakness take over, leaning into Hei for warmth. If he was willing to be this close, she would take every advantage she could get. Even Masaru had gotten close to her as well, snuggling against her face. Hidden like this, she could smile without fear, and just be happy for a change of pace.
At least until the umbrella slipped away from Hei's grasp. Feeling water on her again, she stared up at Hei, who had been just as surprised.
"You're an idiot," she shot at him, the moment of happiness fading, nearly. Her face had still been scarred with a deep blush. Angry as she was, there was no denying this was still preferable. And her comment ignored, she returned to clinging onto him. At least now she had a second umbrella.
