It had been three nights already. Kairi had left them to go to bed early as usual. Sora and Riku sat together as the sun set on the horizon. Orange, red, midnight blue on the top where the stars shone through brightly, winking happily. Today is it, Riku though. Today Iwill tell him.
Lght danced softly off Sora's spiky bron hair, making it dark in some places, red in others. Riku thought to himself that it was beautiful. Before he could help himself, he kissed Sora's soft, salty lips. For a few moments, sora responded in kind. Riku, surprised and emboldened by this, reached in a bit deeper. Suddenly Sora stiffened and pulled away. those beautiful blue eyes that Riku had loved soo much darkened with fear anddisgust. He shook his head slowly from side to side as the back of his hand rose to cover his mouth and he backed away slowly.
Riku remained in shock until slowly the notion hit him like a sack of bricks. He hated Sora. He hated the stars for their now mocking twinkle. And he hated himself most of all. Riku just wanted to fade away; drown in a sea of emptiness where he could no longer feel. Someplace far away from the island of falsehoods and broken dreams. Away from a boy who could never love him no matter how hard he wanted him to.
Three days passed slowly, meticulously, as if time liked to watch him squirm. He and Sora just pretented like it never happened. Every hour of those tortorus three day, it ate away at his soul until there was little left to even call a soul. Then came the man who led him into the darkness. and Riku was glad to follow.
