Summary: Ron sometimes could be a little thick when it comes to girls.
Written for MasterK.
He wasn't sure when he first noticed she was a girl. All right, yes, he wasn't that dense but really, he'd only seen her as female when they first met. Then she was just Hermione, his friend. Harry's friend. But he turned around one day and suddenly she wasn't just a friend any more, she was a girl. A real, live girl with this amazing mouth and this hair and he was absolutely sure she hadn't – wouldn't – ever notice him the same way he noticed her.
She listened to his explanation with that particular expression on her face, her eyebrow cocking up in that familiar way and he expected, any second now, to get a head shake and for her to stomp off.
Instead she kissed him.
"Oh, Ron," she said afterwards, her voice a mixture of affection and exasperation, "what took you so long?"
