OLD SCHOOL PRIMEVAL! :D
Disclaimer: This is just a drabble that I own only the idea for, not the characters that I mess around with…
Fail:
He'd been told by every teacher he'd ever had that he absorbed knowledge like a sponge absorbed water.
He'd also been told by many different people that he that he was very rational and insightful.
But there was one piece of information that never seemed to click; it just kept slipping his mind.
It should've been his first clue that something was wrong, that it was time to give up and move on, but even if he hadn't over looked it, he would've have given up, it just wasn't his style.
He just kept running back to Helen. Even after finding out how twisted she was, he tried to fix her.
And now, slowly backing away from the door, never taking his eyes off of Nick, Stephen realized that both Cutters' had tested him.
The difference was that Helen enjoyed watching him fail, even fed him the wrong answers so he didn't even have a hope at passing, while Nick stayed by his side to pick him back up and prepare him for what came next.
Even after everything, Nick was always there to guide him, or point him in the right direction.
So as he continued to back away, Stephen realized that he'd failed Nick way too many times; he owed him something, and saving Nick's life in exchange for everything he had given him, made him feel like maybe he hadn't failed after all.

I actually don't like the ending… it just doesn't flow very well, but that's it!
Thanks for reading:)
