Hey guys! I'm back with another story..shame on me...I promise to

update the other ones, but right now, I have a lack of muse, so right now

I'm presenting you a L/OC fanfiction. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Death Note.

~Back story~

L had always been the world's greatest detective. He would solve every case

handed to him. Nobody ever doubted that, not even himself. Though, whoever said

he always worked alone? Yes, we all recall the time L told the task force that it was his

first time showing his face, and that he had admit defeat. But- We are all human, and no human

goes a lifetime without a lie. L, Lawliet, Ryuzaki, whichever you prefer, had a friend who had helped him on the L.A.B.B murder case. No, not Naiomi Misora, they only communicated through computers. I'm talking about Manami Haruki, a woman who would now be in her

mid-forties. She had always been a great help to L, but didn't work for him much anymore.

She found two twin children, Mori, a girl, and Masashi, a boy. The last one was a

girl, the age of four, twenty years younger than her twenty-four year old twin siblings. Her name was Tobi. Manami being the nice woman she was, took them in. Nobody understood their aging patterns, it was always a mystery. The reason behind that was quite simple. They were half Shinigami. No, their parents were not Shinigami, they had no parents. They were just simple spawns, more like experiments. The Shinigami king had designed these beings to be Shinigami,

but take the form of humans. The reason, you may ask? He designed them to destroy the humans.

His planned failed, and they malfunctioned. Of course they aged, but once they passed the age of ten, they had control of their aging system. Now, you're probably wondering how these experiments are so lucky. They're not. As I've said earlier, they're spawns. They malfunctioned. Human emotion took over much too quickly. Every time a human gets claim of a Death Note, and writes a name, the three Shinigami's have to make the decision of whether that soul

goes to heaven, or hell. That takes quite a while, so you can imagine Light Yagami is not

their favorite person.

~Story Mode~

(Tobi's POV)

" Come on, Mori, Masashi, take Tobi's hand. Let's try to get across the street as quickly as possible." Manami said in a frightened tone. The girl in the apartment had no lifespan. Misa. Oniisan noticed to. She was the one killing Ukita-Sama, and others who dared defy her. "Imouto,

hurry," Mori said, grabbing my hand. I held up a 'L' shape with my fingers, pleading for L to see

the signal. It was our signal to be careful. I'd explain to you how I knew him, but right now isn't quite the time. Mori and Masashi both had the same expression as me. Fear. Manami-sama's lifespan was getting shorter by the second. Sirens, yelling, and the sight of people dropping dead

every few minutes, was chilling the air. Finally, it felt as if time stopped. Manami-sama dropped her purse, and fell to the ground, holding her chest. " Manami-Sama!" I screetched, but Mori and Masashi held me back. Everything rushed in a blur, until a deep pang felt in my chest. I thought Shinigami's couldn't die! I took a frightened look at Mori and Masashi, only to see them unconscious. "Mana-" Finally a hot light took over me, and blackness faded my eyesight.

(L POV)

It all happened in a blur on the television screen. My heart plummeted at the sight of Manami, Mori, Masashi, and Tobi, as they descended to the ground, clutching their chests. I was very close with the little girl, Tobi, because Manami had usually entrusted me with her while she

taught Mori and Masashi detective stuff. I clenched my fists, until my knuckles turned white. Damn that Kira.
