A/N: Thanks to everyone that has reviewed to 'The End of The Road', for those that didn't receive a PM from me because you signed in anonymously, thanks! Unfortunately, there isn't a follow-up on the story. Yet. But the door's not fully-closed. Yet.
And for those that are following 'Change In Me', that story is on hiatus at the moment. If you have anything you want to read in that story, feel free to send me a PM, I appreciate all those that are willing to pitch in an idea! :D
I just wanted to say that I understand different people support different pairings. I don't mind people criticizing my work but I really don't appreciate it when people call me names simply because they don't like my shipping. I've noted my pairing on the summery. If you don't like it, don't read it. That's all.
Disclaimer: Nothing familiar is mine. Phooey! :(
Falling was easy, admitting was the hard part. At least that was the rule Olivia lived by.
She learned that lesson a long time ago. Back when she was just a little girl that just so happened to fall into her mother's drunken world. She always believed that if she didn't admit, if she didn't say it out loud, then maybe real life wouldn't be so real. That she could wake up and realize it was all just a bad dream.
And now, forty years later, one would think that the wild beliefs of childhood would fade away and be replaced with those more logical and realistic.
But Olivia was different. Those childhood beliefs weren't replaced. Instead, her beliefs strengthened with time and logic began to seek in. She told herself that if she didn't admit those things, there'd be a possibility that she could still convince herself it was just a stupid hormone-controlled crush and it'd just pass and she wouldn't get hurt.
It was the one way she knew that could protect herself. It was the only way she knew how.
But now she wasn't so sure anymore. Was it really possible to let go of everything just to fall for someone? Was it possible for one to admit and not get hurt? Was it possible for one person to enter your life just to change everything you once believed in?
Everyday she had to go to work and face the perverts that weren't even meant to be on this Earth. They changed her life alright, but there was one person that kept on driving her to go back to that dark world. One person that outbalanced the damage those scumbags did to her life. One person that entered her world to rewrite her script of relationships, trust and life.
Usually Olivia would smack the person that dared to disrupt the rules of her life and/or shoot the person that caused her uncertainty in life.
But again, one person barged into her life and changed all that. She wasn't sure if it was for better or for worse in the long run but right now she liked where she was. Even if it meant giving up the belief she has lived by since a little girl.
Olivia turned over to see the man that was sleeping peacefully by her side. A warm smile lit up her face. Never when she was a kid dare to dream that one day, she'd find someone to settle down with. But life had its own surprises.
She lifted her hand to trace the outlines of his biceps. The dim sparkle on her ring finger lightened the dark room. A perfect engagement with Elliot Stabler, it was definitely worth throwing away her childhood beliefs.
Well, that's all for now. I already talked enough at the start of the story.
As usual, I'd love to hear what y'all think!
Have a nice one! :D
