The Yearly 365 Challenge
Prompt #310 (Trope) Trapped Together
"Did you plan this?" Steel laced her voice.
"Ronnie you honesty think that I would go this esteem with you?" Hermione sighed deeply as she looked at her daughter whom stood at the other side of the elevator with her arms tightly across her chest.
Veronica's right eye brow rose. "No I wouldn't put it past you mother." Her back stiffened.
"I didn't plan this." Hermione replied holding up her hand.
Veronica nodded tightly. "Okay then." She looked away.
"How are you?" Hermione spoke after ten minutes of silence.
"Good." Veronica replied.
"That's good sweetheart." Hermione soft voice spoke.
Veronica tightened up.
"Veronica please look at me." Hermione spoke.
Veronica looked at her mother with anger in her eyes. "I have nothing more to say to you. You know this. I said everything that I needed to say two years ago when you allowed that man back."
Hermione nodded. "I miss you."
Veronica stiffened. "You made your choice; and I made mine."
The doors of the elevator opened and Veronica walked out of them. She didn't look back and she didn't say goodbye. She just walked down the halway.
Tears rolled down her cheeks as Hermione heartbrokenly watched her daughter walk away from her. Her eyes closed once the doors slid silently closed once more. She knew that even if she did manage to kick Hiram completely out of her life … she still had lost her daughter.
