Harry Potter was stressed. Today was Albus's first day at school and he had consistently whined the whole way to the station. It had been a nightmare the last couple of days, first Diagon alley and James had pestered for a new broomstick, which he didn't need, Ginny had been annoying too, laughing when she should be strict with them. This morning had been a scramble too, just what he didn't need.
"Hurry up, you'll miss the train!" he urged them. They got to platform nine and three quarters at ten to eleven,
"Come on! Through the barrier, oh come on Albus! It's not going to hurt!" he said exasperated as Albus looked fearfully at the solid brick wall.
"Come on darlings! Get your stuff on the train!" rang out Ginnys voice as she ushered them through. Harry breathed a sigh of relief as James ran off; at least he could take care of himself.
"Daddy, Dad!" Harry heard, he looked around but no-one seemed to be talking to him, he felt a tugging on his jacket and looked down. And groaned inwardly.
"What now Albus?"
"What if I'm in Slytherin?"
Harry crouched down,
"If you're in Slytherin then I'll be disappointed but don't let that get in your way, all it counts anyway is different common room and green will have to be your new favourite colour. What you should worry about is getting into Hufflepuff and missing the train, now shoo!"
He straightened up and heard a familiar voice saying,
"Harry! Ginny! Over here!" Harry turned and saw Ron and Hermione coming towards them, Harry frowned, they looked far too happy to be parents. What was the matter with them?
"Ah Albus looks adorable!" cooed Hermione. Harry was confused. What was so adorable about a pest that looked terrified about going to school for goodness sake?
Finally the train went, puffing out of the station. "Great" Harry though, no more children 'till Christmas and hopefully they'll stay at Howarts for the holidays. With this cheerful though, Harry threw his arm around Ginny's shoulders as they walked back to Kings Cross. His scar had not ached for nineteen years. All was well. Until the Children came home.
