As Cordelia held Connor, a warmth spread through her chest. How could a child she hadn't given birth to hold her heart so completely? "You feel like mine, though," she told him softly.
"He is yours," Angel whispered, a tender smile on his face.
"What do you mean?"
He sat next her. "You're his mommy in every way that matters."
"Oh, Angel."
"You're his mother, Cordy," he reiterated. "And I love you both." With those words, he kissed her softly. It wasn't a declaration filled with pretty words, but it was them. And that made it perfect in Cordy's eyes.
