The year is 2151 in the open space of the Milkyway Galaxy. A single and first of its kind star ship flies through the open space.
"I can't believe we met an underwater race." A young Japanese woman looks out amazed by the twinkling stars and adventure they just had.
"Same here Hoshi." The cowboy feeling captain smiles over at her.
"Captain Archer, there's…. something just ahead of us." A young black man looks at his scanners.
"What is it?" The captain looks curious.
"It appears to be some sort of star ship. Though I do not recognize it." A female Vulcan examines it.
"There are a few hundred life signs on board. But I can't pin point where." An English man calls worried.
"Weapons?" Archer looks over at the Englishman.
"None." He shakes his head hitting a few buttons. "It appears their engines are offline, they were hit with some debry."
"Hail them Hoshi." Archer stands.
"Channel is open sir." Hoshi nods to him.
"Hello star ship, I'm Captain Jonathan Archer. We're the star ship Enterprise from Earth." Archer starts waiting a few minutes to hear from them. "We come in peace and would like to help if we can." He continues then looks over at Hoshi.
"Nothing. But their coms could be down or they don't understand." Hoshi shakes her head a bit pressing some buttons.
"Hoshi. Malcom. Come with me to the ship, it's time to make first contact." Archer starts heading off, Hoshi and the Englishman coming with him.
After placing on their space suits they head off in a small shuttle. Making it they find the ship seems empty with life support off right about everywhere.
"Where are they?" Hoshi looks around a bit on edge.
"The scanner says they're nearby." Malcom looks at a screen. "It's a bit fritzy though." He hits it lightly.
Suddenly three wolf/human hybrids with something over their mouths seem to appear out of know where with weapons in hand. They attack the boarding party, knocking them out and bringing them to a Hydroponics bay and take off their helmets.
The crew wakes up cuffed sitting on grass. Coming to they see a number of these new people mixed with what appear to be four identical brothers watching over them. Seeing a few kids peeking behind trees then run off.
Then a female with mixed golden and silver eyes comes forward stopping just in front of them. She seems to eye them curiously with a fierceness in her eyes.
"Conas tá tú? Ar sheol tú na pionnaí?" The orange/red long haired woman snarls with crossed arms.
"Hoshi?" Archer sees her eyes widen.
"Their language… it's very similar to one spoken on Earth. It's Celtic." Hoshi explains.
"Then you know what she said?" Archer looks hopeful.
"She's asking who we are and if the… pinheads sent us." Hoshi is hesitant with the word.
"Pinheads?" Malcom lifts a brow.
"Tell her we mean no harm. We came to help." Archer looks at the young woman with brown furry ears and tail.
"She wants to know why we carry weapons then." Hoshi translates.
"Say… say we brought it to keep us safe. We had no idea who they were either." Archer thinks of what to say.
The woman's ears twitch a bit as her body relaxes a bit. Then she looks at a few men nodding. They then come over cutting their zip ties off.
"Tá brón orm faoi sin. Táimid fós ag léimneach tar éis dúinn iad a shluasadh isteach i réaltra nua. Is é Terra Fang an t-ainm atá orm." Terra explains.
"Her name is Terra Fang and she apologizes for what happened. Her people are jumpy about being in a new galaxy." Hoshi explains.
"My name is Captain Jonathan Archer. This is Malcom Reed and Hoshi Sato. Can you explain what happened?" Archer motions to each of them.
"She says this is a ship of settlers. They were on their way to a planet called Christofis when they got pulled into a warm hole, they've been wondering in open space for two weeks with failing systems." Hoshi explains.
"Why not send out a distress call?" Malcom looks curious and on guard.
"She says; would you be so open being in a new space. Especially after just ending a two and a half year war." Hoshi explains as she has a translator out to start learning the language.
"War? So these people are also refuges then?" Archer asks.
"No. We won our war, they are just trying to help repopulate the planet." Terra has her hands on her hips. "I can understand you." Her ears go up a bit.
"This is our universal translator. It helps us understand others." Hoshi explains showing the small device.
"Interesting." Terra eyes it with twitching ears. "If you let Rex look at it I'm sure he can make it the size of a bracelet in few months." She suggests looking over at the sandy haired brother talking with the other three.
"He's good with tec?" Malcom looks curious.
"He and the others have kept us moving all this time." Terra nods.
"We have engineers ready and willing to help with the repairs. Maybe enough to get you to Earth." Archer suggests.
"Earth?" Terra tilts her head with twitching ears.
"That's where we are from. Us humans I mean." Archer motions to himself and glancing at the others. "Where are you from? And what are you called?"
"We'd like the help thank you." Terra nods. "As for my people; they are called Mac Tires from the planet Lothal. The brothers are Mandalorains; Rex, Ponds, Cody, and Kix." she explains.
"Let us head back to get my engineer. We also have a doctor if you have injured." Archer suggests.
"That would be helpful thank you." Terra nods with a small smile.
The Denobulan doctor, Phlox, was a hit with the pups. They found the marks on his face interesting and his smile funny. The elders more interested in his people and culture.
After three days of working on the ship Trip, the head mechanic, got life support back on. Within a week and a half they were moving again. Along with negotiating space on Earth for them and what Star Fleet can use to improve their ships.
"Thank you so much for allowing us the… European countrysides. My people and our Hoppers will thrive on them. We owe you much." Terra nods to the large screen on the bridge.
"You're allowing us to use your ship schematics and medicine. We owe you." The chief nods to her. "But um… I was wondering if you'd waver at all about letting us experiment with your weapons and crystals." He looks at the pink necklace around her neck and Bayard on her right side.
"I'm sorry." Terra shakes her head. "Please understand, we've never let any off worlders near them. These are very important to our culture. We could never let anyone other than a Mac Tire have them." She touches her necklace lightly with her fingertips, looking at the screen sadly yet hopeful.
"No I'm sorry." The man shakes his head. "It's admirable you stick to your beliefs. We're still learning what ours are." He motions to himself.
"We should be arriving tomorrow." Travis explains.
"See you then." The man nods.
"May the moons watch over you." Terra nods, then the screen turns off.
"Would you and your mate join me and my senior staff for dinner?" Archer turns to Terra with a small smile.
"I'd like that. But I don't think I can stop a curious pup from coming on anymore." Terra nods then looks a bit worried.
"Does this belong to someone?" Trip comes in with a tan skinned pup in his arms.
"Mama." The silver eyed boy looks at her sadly with his black ears drooped and tail between his legs.
"Skyler Fang, what are you doing on this ship?" Terra stares at her messy ginger harried son with scolding eyes.
"W-wanna see. Want mama and papa." Skyler sniffles reaching for her.
Terra sighs taking him into her arms and pats his back lightly nuzzling him with her cheek. Skyler clinging to her as he sniffles.
"I'm sorry, he's a curious boy." Terra nods to Trip. "Did he break anything? Or disturb you?" her ears droop.
"No. I just got worried when I saw him by the engine with no one around." Trip shakes his head a bit. "You know… if you have things to do I can bring him to my room to play with a few models in my room." He suggests.
"Maybe next time, thank you." Terra nods. "Come on, you need a bath before dinner." She starts heading for the airlock.
"No~ Play~" Skyler calls as he's taken away.
Later on that night Terra and Kix brought their mischievous pup to dinner with them on Enterprise. The crew nods to the parents and wave to the little guy.
"What that?!" Skyler points to Porthose, the Beagle, with a wagging tail.
"This is Porthose, my pet dog and dear friend." Archer explains patting the wagging pup's head. "Would you like to pet him?" he suggests to the child.
"Can I?" Skyler looks at his parents with beaming eyes.
"Be gentle." Kix warns with a finger up and a smile.
Skyler runs over to Archer whom is holding the puppy. Porthose licks the toddlers face making him giggle as she pats his head. The two playing on the low bed.
"Thank you. I wasn't so sure about bringing him after… after this morning." Terra's ears droop at that.
"Oh don't worry, kids are supposed to be curious. We'll work on our security measures along with the upgrade." Archer shakes his head a bit with a chuckle.
"My brothers and I can help if you like." Kix suggests.
"I'd like that." Archer nods politely.
"Mama. He tickles." Skyler giggles as he's licked all over.
"I see that." Terra giggles herself.
"Porthose. Dinner time." Archer calls with a whistle.
"You too, Skyler." Kix holds his hand out for his.
"Kay papa." Skyler wipes his face clean from the licks then takes his hand.
They talk for a good while. Going over what land they'll have and what supplies they might need. Skyler's tail wags wildly about the idea of running around on grass again.
