Taiwan rushed back into his eldest brother's arms. She was sobbing.

"Calm down, Wan. What happened, aru?" China was surprised that he was welcomed with such a commotion. He went to the market just an hour ago and when he returned home, he saw that all his siblings were crying or pouting.

"I am the one you love the most, right, gege?" Taiwan asked, eyes full of tears.

"NO! I am, daze!" Korea shouted and ran towards China, and before he knew it, Korea jumped and glomped on China's back.

"I am." Japan came forward and pouted. "I am the first sibling China-san found."

Hong Kong, meanwhile, silently watching the whole situation with big eyes.

China sighed. "Aiyah, you children, always fighting!"

"Gege, tell me who is the best!" Taiwan demanded. The rest soon followed and they sounded like the little birds asking for worms inside their nest. China sighed.

"Everybody, sit down, aru!"

The children all followed their elder's order and sat down on the mat. China made a pot of tea and soon they were having their tea time. However, the children were still tense. They did not talk to each other at all.

China rolled his eyes. Children. Aiyah. So he smiled and started the conversation.

"Do you want to hear a story, aru?"

Everybody nodded and unconsciously moved towards their older brother. China smiled. And he started.

"First, it was the head, aru. The head tells the whole body: 'I am the most important! Without me, you cannot think!'

And then the mouth spoke out. 'but without me, you cannot talk or eat, and all of us will die!'

Then the eyes exclaimed, 'I am better! I let you see and that's why we can work to gain food in daylight!'

Hands and arms were siblings, so they shouted in unison 'but without us, you lot cannot have access to food, cannot take things, and most importantly, cannot wash yourself!'

Feet and legs joined in. 'Without us, you can't walk! You should be glad we are very humble to stay on the bottom!'

Everybody kept fighting and fighting on who is the most important. Except one, aru. Can you guess who?"

The children all thought deeply.

Japan spoke up "…the ears?"

Korea chimed in. "No! It will be the nose!"

Taiwan refused to lose "I think it is the hair!"

Hong Kong was silent and watched the whole situation nonchalantly. China smiled. He then asked, "Then, who do you think is the most important?"

Japan opted for the head, while Korea opted for the hands and Taiwan opted for the eyes. Hong Kong stayed shut and listened.

China smiled. "The one who actually keeping its silence was the arsehole, aru."

"Ewww, gross!" Taiwan exclaimed. But China laughed.

"You know, Taiwan, what do you think happened when your arsehole stayed shut, aru?"

All the children fell silent.

"You get constipation, aru. You get sick. You cannot throw away your waste." China smiled. "So, the moral of the story is, everybody is important. You have your own goodness, aru. And you cannot say you are better because everybody has their own ability. Everything is important, aru. But by working together, we can achieve more, aru."

The children were in silent, digesting the moral and also feeling embarrassed with themselves. China continued. "I love all of you equally, aru. And it is not fair for you to ask me to pick whom I like the most, aru, because I can never choose one of you like that. It is cruel to force me to choose between you. You are all my treasured siblings, aru. I love you equal and the same, aru. Understand?"

The children nodded in unison.

China patted them one by one.

"Good child, aru. Good child."

I am amazed on how old sayings have so much wisdom in their words; I dont really understand poem and philosophy, but I love this kind of fables like this.

Hope you learn from it, too!
