Are You Sure You Weren't Dreaming?

"Argh!"

Every girl in the Hufflepuff fifth year dormitory was startled awake by the strangled cry of their friend Susan Bones. In the dark they could make out her figure which seemed to be having a fight with her bed sheets.

"Everything alright?" Sophie Roper, the girl nearest to Susan, asked.

No sound came.

"I think she's sleeping," Hannah Abbot – opposite Sophie - whispered.

"Doesn't sound too pleasant," Sally Smith, the one on Hannah's left added.

"Should we wake her?" Sophie wondered.

"No, let her sleep, I guess."

The other girls tried their best to settle despite the continuous thrashing of Susan. Sophie had it the worst, because her bed was the closest.

"No, Mum, I don't want to play the violin!" Susan sounded tearful as she spoke to her apparent mother in her sleep. "No, Mum, no, don't make me!"

"Should we wake her?" Hannah's voice, muffled, asked after a moment?

"Perhaps," Sally said, sounding unsure.

Suddenly, though, Susan shouted again and then began to pant. The other girls sat up.

"Susan?" Sophie asked.

Breathless, Susan's bright eyes looked around in the dark. "My mother…" she gasped. "My mother… she wanted me to… to play the violin."

Sophie couldn't help herself. The joker of the group, she said, "And you didn't want to, I assume?"

"I… I hate it," Susan panted.

The other girls chuckled.

"What?" Susan demanded, looking around.

Sophie cleared her throat. "Susan," she said. "Are you sure you weren't dreaming?"

Again, Sophie Roper wasn't given a canon house, so I put her in Hufflepuff. I hope you all enjoyed! Please leave a review if you read this. Would be much appreciated!
