UNDER THE STARS

The stars were dancing around in the night sky. The moon and her old self watching her little children, and singing with the slight breeze. The nighttime air smelled clean, and grassy. Two silhouettes walked side by side on the brick path.

"You really didn't have to walk me home." Arthur folded his arms, and looked down.

"Well I didn't want anything to sneak up and grab you! Like… France!" Alfred responded… quite cheerfully.

"France wouldn't be able to touch me even if he tried!" Arthur retorted, disturbed at the sudden topic of France popping up.

Alfred just smiled, but after a few moments replied by leaning down and picking up the shorter nation.

"A-Alfred! What in bloody hell are you doing? P-Put me down! Now!" Arthur squirmed in Alfred's arms, which just made Alfred squeeze him tighter.

"Hah. You're very easy to grab, England!" Alfred did one of his big 'hero' grins, and Arthur pouted making America frown.

"What?" Arthur said turning his head away from the overly enthusiastic country, and crossing his arms.

"You're not yelling anymore." Alfred said quietly, mostly to himself.

"So? Is that a problem?" Arthur said plainly.

"Well… no, but it's not like you to not keep yelling until I put you down." Alfred said looking up at the stars blankly.

"I'm tired." Arthur shrugged. The 'hero' grin returning to America's face at once.

"What now?" Arthur fidgeted in the other nation's grip.

"That's so cute, Artie," Alfred smiled "Here we are."

Alfred set Arthur down on his porch step, and waved in his face.

"See ya'!" He said turning to leave.

"Eh… Alfred…" Arthur tugged on his jacket sleeve. Alfred turned around with a questioning look on his face. Arthur reached up and kissed him on the lips, making the taller nation's eyes go wide, and his face flush (of course, it wasn't as red as little igirisu there.)

"G-Goodnight, Alfred." Arthur said pulling away and taking a step back, his face still very red.

Alfred simply smiled, turned, and raised his hand up in a wave before walking off. Arthur stood quietly for a few heartbeats on his porch looking up at the stars. They were sleepily twirling around Mother Moon, who was hushing her little children to bed. Arthur turned and opening his front door, but briefly looked up at the stars one last time, "Cute, eh?"
