Kara hummed to herself softly, putting the clean plates in the cabinet. She noticed her and Barbara's adopted child, Hiro, standing on the other side of the open dishwasher holding a plate. Kara smiled, closing the dishwasher since that was the last thing.

"Hey Hiro. You helping with the dishes now?" Hiro stared at the floor and nodded. "Y-yeah." Kara smiled. "Can you reach?" He shrugged, lifting his head back up and straining to reach the still open cabinet. His arm dropped down in a fit of disappointment, "nope…"

Kara picked him up so he could reach, and Hiro dropped the plate in surprise, shattering into a bajillion pieces. Hiro gasped. Kara set him down on the counter, "BABS!! WE GOT A BROKEN PLATE OVER HERE… COULD YOU GET THE BROOM?"

Barbara zoomed in, holding the broom tightly. "Everyone okay?! No one got cut, right?!" Hiro's cheeks turned a flushed red, he mumbled "sorry", and Kara kissed his forehead, not moving from her spot to avoid the broken pieces. "It's okay, Hiro, it was an accident."

In record speed, Barbara swept all the shards up, quick to protect her beloved Kara from getting hurt. Also, she didn't really want Hiro sitting on the counter, so now he could get off without hurting himself either.
