At 7 AM, Connor's wakin' up in the morning because his anomaly detector is goin' off. He's gotta be fresh and go downstairs. He's gotta have his bowl, with his cereal, Fruit Loops. He's seein' everything and time is goin', tickin' on and on. Everybody else is probably rushin' to work.

He's gotta get down to the bus stop. Hurrying to the door, he mutters to himself, "Damn, Abby's already left. Gotta catch the bus."

Outside, one of the team's government issue SUVs sits at the curb.

"Ah, I see my friends," Connor exclaims.

"My friends," Rex chirps in his adorable lizard language through a slightly open window in the flat.

Sure enough, they're all waiting for him in the large black vehicle. Cutter is behind the wheel, Stephen is in the passenger seat, and Abby is already seated in the back, looking slightly vexed at Connor's tardiness.

"Hey!" Connor says, glancing from person to person. "Kickin' in the front seat, sittin' in the back seat. Gotta make my mind up. Which seat can I take?"

Cutter and Stephen both glare at him. "Which do you think, Connor?" Cutter asks.

"Right. I'll sit with Abby in the back, then," Connor says, smiling awkwardly.

As they start out, Connor has a sudden realization. "It's Friday!" he exclaims.

"Friday," Abby echoes with a small sigh.

"Gotta get down on Friday," Connor says in his corny way.

"Everybody's lookin' forward to the weekend, ain't they?" Abby asks.

"Ah, the weekends," Connor intones fondly.

"Friday, Friday," Cutter mutters almost nostalgically, as he turns a corner.

"We're gettin' down on Friday, eh?" Stephen says with an ironic smile.

"Like Abby said, everybody's lookin' forward to the weekend. They can't help it… They'll be partyin'."

"Partyin'?" Cutter asks, mildly surprised.

"Yeah!" Connor says excitedly. "Partyin'.

"Partyin', yeah!" Abby says, pumpin' her fist in the air.

"Fun, fun," Cutter says, smirking.

"Fun, you remember fun?" Connor says wistfully. "I mean, chasing ancient creatures day in and day out, it's exciting, but when do we ever get to relax? Oh, I'm so looking forward to the weekend."

"7:45, and we're still driving on the highway," Stephen says, looking a bit worried. "Looks like Lester's going to be annoyed with us when we get there."

"We're cruisin' so fast already. We might make it on time." Cutter says optimistically.

"I want time to fly," Connor groans, still in his daydream. "Fun. Fun. Think about fun," he consoles himself.

"You know what it is," Abby says approvingly. "I got this and you got this."

Connor looks at her, confused for a second, but goes with it. "Yeah, my friend is by my right. Ay, I got this. You got this." He laughs.

"Yeah, now you know it!" Abby laughs too.

Stephen and Cutter exchange amused looks while Connor grimaces a little at his lack of understanding of what he's talking about.

In an effort to change the subject, he says, "Soooo, kicking in the front seat, sitting in the back seat, on our way to work to chase monsters. Glad I made my mind up on which seat to take."

An awkward silence ensues, and Connor attempts to fill it in. "It's Friday." He says with slightly forced cheerfulness.

"Yeah, Friday," Abby says, trying to be supportive. "Gotta get down on Friday."

"Everybody's lookin' forward to the weekend, right?" Connor asks, leaning forward, trying to get more input from the front seat.

"Yep, it's Friday," Cutter says without much enthusiasm.

"Friday!" Stephen exclaims, with equal zeal.

"Isn't everybody looking forward to the weekend?" Connor asks again, confused and a bit put out.

After a sigh, Cutter says at last, "Connor, it's Friday, but who cares if it's Friday? None of is getting down on Friday, unless you somehow have the energy to party after all we have to do today. So no, nobody is looking forward to the weekend."

Finally Connor has nothing to say, as the truth sinks in. The rest of the car ride to work is very quiet.
