In the Fairy Tail guild, Lucy smiled as she softly brushed crimson sunset hair. Her smile widened as she watched Flare move slightly then get comfortable again. Lucy was surprised that Flare had allowed her to even touch her hair at all. Anyone who knew Flare knew that she was extremely fond of her hair, and would explode in rage the very second her hair got damaged. So Lucy was very careful of brushing Flare's hair as gently as possible. After making sure Flare's hair was completely brushed, Lucy held out a mirror in front of Flare.

"So what do you think?"

Flare opened her eyes and looked into the mirror. She waved her hair slowly and a blush crossed her face.

"Blondie did good."

Lucy's smile faltered slightly.

'She still calls me that nickname. I don't mind it. It's just that she never calls me by my name.'

Flare turned around to face Lucy, and blinked as she noticed the frown on Lucy's face.

"Blondie?"

Lucy looked up. Flare twiddled her index fingers together.

"Is Blondie okay?"

Lucy attempted a smile, but it fell.

"Flare, why do you always call me 'Blondie'?"

Flare tilted her head, blinking repeatedly.

"Blondie's hair is blond."

Lucy smiled.

"I know that Flare. But can't you call me by my real name?"

Flare twiddled her fingers again and replied; "No."

Lucy widened her eyes in shock.

"N-no?! Why not?"

Flare blushed.

"It's how I know Blondie best."

Lucy frowned.

"But can't you just call me Lucy, just this once?"

Flare looked down, and her hair suddenly animated. Lucy looked up in awe as Flare's hair morphed into the name:

Lucy.

Lucy stared blankly at her girlfriend.

"That doesn't count, Flare."

Flare huffed as her hair morphed back into its braided form.

Lucy sighed in exasparation.

"Is it that hard to say my name? I say your name all the time."

Flare shrugged.

"Blondie never gave me a nickname."

Lucy stared in disbelief and huffed in annoyance.

"So you're saying if I gave you a nickname and I called you that particular nickname all the time, you wouldn't mind?"

Flare nodded. Lucy sighed again and a thoughtful look crossed her face. She glanced at Flare, then at her hair. 'Sunset hair.' Lucy widened her eyes and snapped her fingers.

"I got it!"

A triumphant smile appeared on Lucy's face.

"Sunset."

Flare blinked and tilted her head.

"Sunset?"

Lucy nodded. "Yeah, Sunset. You've always said your hair was sunset red, so why not?"

Flare blushed, as Lucy smiled.

"Then it's settled. Sunset it is." Lucy placed a kiss on Flare's cheek, causing said girl's blush to darken.

'...Blondie.'

'Sunset.'
