A/N: Holy mackerel...why is it that I haven't written in over...a few months maybe? Knock...knock...knock
The sound of hell arrived, a boy with messy black hair and grey eyes pushed his blanket over his legs. Grumbling under his breath, he got off of his bed and opened the door to show a young seven year old girl with long brown hair and emerald eyes, in her hand a stuffed tiger. She looked up at him with tiredness in her eyes. "Akio," she said filled with fear. "Can I sleep with you?"
Ayumi, why are you so cute? I could die now. Akio nodded and held her small hand in his. The door closed, Lily made way to the bed and lay on the bed. Forced to sleep at the edge, he lay next to her and pulled the blanket over the two of them. Lily put her tiger between the two, with a smile Akio kissed her forehead. "Go to sleep Ayumi, I bet you Master Hendrix is planning something spectacular," he whispered.
"Speck...specular?" she said struggling with the word. "What's that?"
"Just sleep alright?" He grinned, "You're going to need it."
Nodding, Lily closed her eyes, snuggling against the pillow. After a while for her to sleep, he too fell asleep. Their hands intertwined, the two fell into a blissful sleep filled with candy and friendly woodland creatures.
When the morning arose, the rays of the sun hit Ayumi's gentle face. He opened his eyes slowly. It was then that he noticed that he was in the midst of a Sleeping Beauty. From there, Akio promised to be by his friend's side no matter what the cause.
10 years later…
"You mean…I get the obligation to be a Guardian?" a girl with long brown hair and emerald eyes said with disbelief in her voice.
"Miss Nanase, would I lie to you?" the headmaster raised a brow. "Yuki gave me word that you're into helping the Guardians, and so, it shall be your duty."
Not hearing the headmaster, she thought of the things she could do. Omigosh, omigosh, I can see Zero and Yuki. Blue might be able to support me and Zero, Yuki and I can hang out unlike most times in school.
A sound of a fist hit upon a wooden desk startled her from a fangirl moment. "Ms. Nanase, no time to doze off into your own world, you must pay attention, for this is serious business."
She nodded furiously. "Yes sir, what is it?"
"You and another student, who goes by the name of Blue, know that the Night Class is filled with Vampires," he said with his arms crossed against his chest as he looked at her. "It's your job as a Guardian to make sure that none of the Day students wander after twilight."
He opened his desk drawer, pulled out an intricate box and laid it on the desk. "Your weapon in case you're ever in danger."
She walked over to the box and carefully opened it to reveal a Colt 1911. The barrel was intricate with leaves and a single word written Ayumi; the holster on each side was wooden with more leaves. She looked at the headmaster and picked the Colt up. It's a bit heavy…kind of really.
