The moonlight fell into the room, its soft light lingering over the delicate form of the young woman lying there, the pale moonlight illuminating her porcelain skin. The sheets barely covering her, and what little fabric there was over her was moving in time to her peaceful breaths. Her left arm was caught up in the long mess of dark blue hair that pooled around her head like a sparkling lake in the darkness of midnight. Every so often her eyelids would flicker, she was dreaming. And judging from the beautiful smile on her pastel pink lips it was a nice dream, a perfect dream; a perfect dream following a perfect night.

Beside her there was a boy, he was no older then her. He had eyes as deep and as blue as the girl's hair. These shining sapphires had a glint in them, a glint that had never been there before. A smile twitched at the corner of his mouth as he watched her sleep. He'd never thought that watching someone just, well be could be so mesmerising; every little detail, every little movement, every curve and every breath. He could feel himself falling harder and harder for her. There wasn't a single thought running through his mind that wasn't about her. Every waking thought was to do with how beautiful she was, how lucky he was, how he never in a million years thought he could be this lucky. Not even twenty-four hours ago did he realise that someone loved him this much; he'd just been a pathetic excuse. The Knucklehead Ninja; the laughing stock of Kohona, despite everything he'd done for the village. But none of that mattered now; not even being Hokage mattered as much as her. She was perfect, unlike him, and he was so in awe of her. He knew right then and there that he'd found the impossible.

Gently he reached over and stroked her hair, slowly gliding his hand down onto her soft cheek before cupping her chin and delicately kissing her forehead. After a moment the girl's eyes opened, the soft light catching them and making it seem as though two white stars had fallen from the sky and settled within her eyes. A delicate pink flush dashed across her cheeks as her eyes met his.
Wordlessly he pulled her close and held her. Their breaths and heartbeats synchronised in perfect harmony. For a few long minutes they just sat together, holding each other tightly. Then the silence was broken by a whisper.
"Na-Naruto…" She stammered out, but before she could finish the boy smiled knowingly.
"Hinata…" He replied, pressing his lips gently against her forehead. "I love you too."
