In Complete Harmony

Summary: Ginny is the most famous witch in the wizarding world, yet she isn't like any ordinary musician. She doesn't party every night, she isn't all about money, she isn't addicted to any substances, she isn't stuck up, and she is completely private. This intrigues Draco and he is determined to get her to join his recording business. Being the most eligible bachelor in wizarding England, he doesn't think this task to be difficult. He was very wrong.

Disclaimer: I do not own anything that you recognize. Also, the song is Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson

Ginny picked up her guitar and looked out at the audience. She loved looking at each face. Most were girls who looked up to her and had looks of pure joy on their faces, and some were men her age who looked at her appraisingly. She placed her guitar in her lap and strung a couple cords before her band played along.

"This is a song I wrote when I went to Hogwarts, this is pretty much a summary of my life." She said smiling. She played a couple more notes before joining in with her voice.

"Grew up in a small town

And when the rain would fall down

I'd just stare out my window

Dreaming of what could be

And if I'd end up happy

I would pray

Trying hard to reach out

But when I tried to speak out

Felt like no one could hear me

Wanted to belong here

But something felt so wrong here

So I prayed I could break away

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly

I'll do what it takes til' I touch the sky

And I'll make a wish

Take a chance

Make a change

And breakaway

Out of the darkness and into the sun

But I won't forget all the ones that I love

I'll take a risk

Take a chance

Make a change

And breakaway"

She smiled at the audience and completely lost herself in the song.

"Wanna feel the warm breeze

Sleep under a palm tree

Feel the rush of the ocean

Get onboard a fast train

Travel on a jet plane, far away

And breakaway

Buildings with a hundred floors

Swinging around revolving doors

Maybe I don't know where they'll take me but

Gotta keep moving on, moving on

Fly away, breakaway

I'll spread my wings

And I'll learn how to fly

Though it's not easy to tell you goodbye

I gotta take a risk

Take a chance

Make a change

And breakaway

Out of the darkness and into the sun

But I won't forget the place I come from

I gotta take a risk

Take a chance

Make a change

And breakaway, breakaway, breakaway"

The audience cheered enthusiastically and she thanked them for coming and she turned and walked back stage. The band hugged her and Ginny's best friend, Mariah, who played bass, walked up to her and smiled, "So are we still on tonight?"

Ginny laughed, "Yes, of course."

Mariah grabbed her hand and grinned, "Good because we haven't been out in forever!" she observed before she took out her wand and apparated them both away.

As soon as Ginny landed, she recognized their destination as muggle London. Ginny laughed, "Muggle London…."

"So you won't be recognized." Mariah finished as she pulled her into a rather nice looking restaurant. They got a nice table after Mariah did some unabashed flirting with the host, in which Ginny just stood holding back fits of laughter. When they got to the table they sat across from each other and, finally, broke into laughter after the host walked away.

"I told you I could get us a good table and fast." Mariah said grinning.

Ginny laughed again, "Yes, I apologize for doubting you."

"You better be sorry, or maybe next time I won't use my amazing power to get us a good deal, or table, or whatever we're doing next time." Mariah said with an arrogant tone to her voice to which Ginny just laughed more.

After they had ordered Mariah turned to Ginny, "Guess who I saw in the audience today?"

"Who?" Ginny asked frowning, she had looked at every face in the audience she was sure and there was no one that stood out.

"Draco Malfoy!" She exclaimed.

Ginny's brow furrowed in confusion, "What? No he wasn't."

"Yeah, he was! Well, not the whole entire show. He came in, in the middle of Breakaway."

"Oh. So?"

"Oh, don't act so disinterested, we both know you had the biggest crush on him during Hogwarts."

"Did not! I had a crush on Harry."

Mariah scoffed, "Which lasted about 3 seconds after you saw Draco."

Ginny rolled her eyes, "Why would I have crush on the pompous git? He was terrible to me and my family."

Mariah shrugged, "It's you not me."

Ginny was about to retort, when the waiter interrupted her with the serving of their food. They ate in silence considering they food was so good; they were too immersed in the flavors of their meals.

"Wow, that was really good." She said, as the finished.

"Isn't it?" Mariah said happily.

Ginny nodded.

"I still think you should acknowledge the fact that Draco Malfoy came to your show."

Ginny just shrugged, "Probably to find something more to ridicule me about."

Mariah glared at Ginny. "You and I both know that isn't true."

"I don't"

"Well, I do. I bumped into him a few days ago and he recognized me from Hogwarts. He doesn't have any of the bitterness he used to. He's actually rather sweet and gentle hearted, yet he seems like he doesn't know how to sort out his emotions.

Anyways, he was nice, still a little arrogant, but nice and we had coffee he told me about his recording studio and I told him about how I was in your band. He seemed genuinely impressed at how successful you've become." Mariah finished.

Ginny was shocked, this was coming from her best friend so she knew it wasn't a lie. "Okay he came to my show. What exactly does that mean?" she asked

Mariah grinned, "He was checking you out because he wants to get you to sign a recording contract and his record company."

Ginny snorted, "Like that's going to happen."

"Why won't it?"

"You really think I'm going to leave the company for Draco Malfoy's?"

"It's possible."

"No, it isn't."

"Ginny, it is. His company is rather successful and you might actually enjoy it there. I know the band would give anything to join his company."

Ginny scoffed, "Well, sorry to disappoint but we're NOT joining Malfoy records."

Mariah sulked slightly, "Fine."

Ginny felt kind of bad for being so blunt but there was no way in hell she was going to work for Draco Malfoy, even if he had grown up to be amazingly attractive. She hugged Mariah and told her she'd see her at tomorrow rehearsal and show, before she apparated home to her flat.

She walked in kicked off her heels and fell into bed. She fell asleep almost immediately.
