Setting: Around episode 17-ish, when they're all in Russia.
Note: Birthday fic for Izumi's Apprentice! And hey, it's still technically Valentine's day in my time zone!

David was not in a good mood. He should be out with Lewis and Kai searching for Diva, not forced to stay in the hotel. He tried yet again to get up from his bed, and his back immediately erupted in pain. Julia looked up from her laptop and shook her head. "You're in no condition to go anywhere. You'll never heal unless you rest." He hated to admit it, but she had a point. The chiropteran had seriously wounded him, he really was lucky she'd been able to fix him as well as she had. She'd insisted he still needed several days of rest before he could even think about rejoining the others. So here he was two days later, laying shirtless on his stomach, listening to her pound away on her laptop. Suddenly Julia's cell phone rang.
"Hello...That's too bad...No, just stay there until it clears...Bye." She turned to him. "That was Lewis. There's a bad snowstorm coming and they're stuck at a restaurant about 30 miles away. They won't be back until the storm blows over." Noticing that he was still in pain, she moved to her bag and took out some pills before sitting down next to him on the bed. "Here, take these. They're pretty strong and should keep you numb for a few hours so you can sleep."
David swallowed the medicine and looked at her. "I don't need sleep," he argued. "I need to be out looking for Diva's trail." He was already trying to sit up, ignoring the agony from his wounds. She glared at him as her hand pressed down on his shoulder.
"You're so stubborn. There's no way you could even go outside even if you weren't torn apart." She crossed the room to open the curtains at the window. The entire scenery was nothing but swirling white and gray. "You'll be laid up until-" she looked at the calender on her phone. "-the sixteenth at least." She smirked slightly when she realized what day it was. Julia had never been one for romance, but it was rather fitting that she found herself alone in a hotel room with a semi-undressed man today.
David soon started to feel the effects of the painkillers and became much calmer. He even allowed her to change his bandages without pressing her about letting him go out. As she wound the gauze around his torso, she was surprised to find his hand wrapping around her own. "Julia, I never thanked you for all your help..."
She blushed. In all the years they'd known each other, he'd never acted like this toward her. Shrugging it off as an effect of the medicine, Julia continued bandaging him up in silence. It took several minutes for David to break the silence again. "Alright, so I handled that badly." This time, Julia stopped, slightly wary of how he was acting.
"Are you alright? The painkillers shouldn't be-" She was cut off as he suddenly moved foreword and kissed her. She was caught off guard for a few moments before responding, wrapping her arms around his neck, being careful to avoid the large gashes on his back. They were enjoying themselves for several minutes before it became apparent that David's pills were working too well at the moment.
"Damn it," he groaned as he fought the drowsiness taking over. Julia didn't complain however and helped him lay back down to rest, telling him he needed to get some sleep anyways, and he shouldn't try to exert himself until he healed. She stayed sitting on his bed next to him, making sure he didn't put extra pressure on his wounds or do anything else to hurt himself. As he felt himself drifting off, he managed to murmur one last thing. "Happy...Valentine's day."
Author's Note: I hope I did alright, it's the first request fic I've done. Comments and criticism always welcome. Izumi, I hope you liked it!
