It was that dreaded time again, at least for Harry Sullivan and Sarah Jane Smith. Getting Sarah to go in for check ups were pure torture, on both ends. Harry had been trying to get Sarah to allow him to preform her check ups for years but, Sarah would`t hear any of it. So Harry took the opportunity to 'drag Sarah to her doctor`s office. Not that Harry wasn't a qualified doctor he was, Harry recently opened his own small practice, he was very proud of it.
So Harry followed his normal procedure to knock and ask as soon as possible if she changed her mind. Which to his surprise she answered "Yes." Harry turned flabbergasted, "Really?" Sarah smiled mischievously is you've got to catch me first.' With that she was off. Harry stopped stunned before he could go after her. Sarah threw several decorative pillows Harry`s way. Not really slowing him down, he still came for her. Sarah tripped and fell onto the couch, she released she had no where to go. Harry was approaching, "Aw do i have to go Harry?" she said sickly sweet. Harry grabbed a hold of Sarah`s hands, she withered and tried to get away.
Never had Harry in his wildest dreams imagined his current scenario. Wrestling down Sarah on her own sofa. "Come on now Sarah, don`t you think this is childish?" Sarah stopped squirming for a moment and stuck her tongue out at Harry. "What`s the point of being grown up, if you can`t be childish sometimes?" Sarah loved to bring up the doctor, if only to spite Harry. She noticed he was quite close to her, and the look he was giving her. Well she ha never seen Harry quite look that way before. "Well what`s the point of being childish when there are so many different ways to get things done, as an adult." Harry suddenly moved in closer and kissed her. And just as suddenly pulled away, "Sarah, i-" Sarah kissed him this time, he had let go of her hands a long ago and she used them to rub her hands in his curls.
As soon as they were apart Harry looked dazed, then he looked questioningly at Sarah. "I always thought-" Sarah put her hand to his face and rubbed her thumb along his cheek bone. 'Harry, no it was always you. I never thought that you ... felt that way." Harry smiled, "Sarah, I never thought that you-" He started to cry, Sarah wiped his tears. "Now, steady on old chap, hmm I still need my check up don`t I?, I need a doctor and that`s you Harry." She brought him close in a comforting hug. "You know I think I`ll make up for my lack of tears, during the check up." Harry laughed at her, "Why do check ups bother you so much?" She frowned "I don`t know I`m just so independent, I take pride what I do for myself. Maybe the fact there could be something wrong with me and nothing I could do about it." Harry took his turn to console, "Sarah, don`t worry most likely there`s nothing wrong, It`s just procedure. Like those silly drills the Doctor used to make us do-" Sarah finished for him "In case the TARDIS door caught on fire again, which it did. They were in a fit of giggles now, Harry stopped laughing while Sarah continued. "Come on now ol- Sarah no stalling." He smiled, "We have to make sure we know how to deal with a door on fire." She took his arm as they head out, locking the door behind them. "I may bite you, you`re warned." Sarah looked at him seriously. "Well, I think I've dealt with worse. I promise to be uhm..." Sarah piped up, "Gentle?" He smiled, "Why yes that's it, I promise to be gentle with you. There`s nothing to worry about Sarah." He opened the car door for her and paused, he gave her a quick kiss. They both smiled like imbeciles to Harry`s practice. At least Sarah didn't have an trouble going to her check ups anymore. And they both found something new, something wonderful, each other.
