Aidan Cunningham 7-8

Have you ever wondered where Mr. Jones went after the rebellion? Well here's what I think happened.

It was a peaceful morning for Mr. Jones. He had some big plans for the farm today. It was the usual routine for Mr. Jones: get out of bed, get dressed, brush his teeth, and walk out to get started on his farm. As Mr. Jones headed to the hay bales, every animal seemed to be staring at him with such intensity. Mr. Jones wondered what exactly was going on. At around 9:00 Mr. Jones went in to have breakfast. It was his usual breakfast: bacon, eggs, and toast. Mr. Jones finished up his breakfast and called his buddies to help him with his farm.

They arrived around 11:00. As Mr. Jones and his friends moved items around the farm, the animals were getting ready to attack. The animals waited until Jones and his men were in a group. Then suddenly the animals struck. They attacked Jones and his men severely injuring their legs. Jones and his men limped away from the farm as fast as they could go. They were terrified about what had happened.

It took them nearly three hours to get to the closest town. No one spoke about the terrible incident even though they were all very upset. It was almost 3:00 when Jones and his men arrived. They were exhausted from their long journey. The minute they saw the sign that read "Welcome to Ferndale", you could see the joy rising from Jones's face. Once they got to the heart of the town, all of Jones's men went to get a drink after their long walk from the rabid farm. But not Jones...he just stood there staring off into the horizon.

After what seemed like hours of staring into space, Jones decided to meet up with his friends. He saw them in the saloon and went in to join them. They were in the middle of trying to explain what had happened back at the farm. Everyone reacted the same way. They laughed and made fun of them, thinking it was a joke. The harder they tried to convince them, the more the people laughed. Even when they showed them their injuries no one would believe that the animals had rebelled.

By this time it was reaching dusk and Jones and his men were tired and hungry. They slowly walked down the main street in search of a place to eat and sleep. At the end of the street near the outskirts of town they spotted a small house. When they saw a light in the window they decided to knock on the door. Answering the door was a tiny old woman with a friendly face. They explained that they were strangers and were in need of some food and a place to stay. Without hesitation the old woman invited them into her warm house.

After feeding them a wonderful dinner of steak, potatoes, and broccoli she listened to their incredible story. She helped clean their wounds and found them a place to stay in her barn. Although it was quite comfortable, Jones and his men did not get much sleep as the rebellion was still on their minds. They could not help but look nervously at the farm animals as they tried to relax and fall asleep.
