Just a little one shot if Piper and Percy. I will say this once; I do not own Percy Jackson. Criticism is welcomed.

It was just after eleven, and Piper couldn't sleep. She wasn't sure if it was the rocking of the Argo 2, or just the thought of the nightmares that would come.

Deciding that she would get no more sleep, Piper got out of bed and walked up to the deck to look at the stars, hoping to find some incentive to sleep. She reached the deck, only to find Percy staring at the sky.

Piper walked up to stand beside him, and looked at the constellation he was so focused on. It was of a huntress, running through the sky.

"Couldn't sleep?" Percy questioned, still focused on the sky.

"No," Piper sighed. "Why are you out here?"

"I come out here sometimes when I can't sleep."

Percy's answer was vague, as if he was avoiding the question.

"What do you do up here? Do you just stare the sky?"

"No. Most of the time I come up here to think about things."

"What things?"

"Demigod things." he sighed. "I have done a lot of things Piper, and I've broken a lot of promises. Some of those broken promises resulted in deaths. I can't help but think of all the people I've let down, and the people who go through the same thing. Sometimes it's so hard to keep going."

Piper didn't have anything to say to that. She had no idea he felt this way.

The thought struck her as fast as lightning. She didn't know Percy all that well. When she had first met Percy, he looked like the the guy who was always chill.

She thought Percy was carefree, easy going, and was the type of guy that could make you smile at any time in the day. He was, but as she looked at him now, she had realized he had let all of his guards down.

Piper could see how tired Percy looked, his eyes look downcast and sunken, like he hadn't slept in days. His shoulders were slumped like he had just held the way to the world.

He didn't look like a 16 year old anymore. Percy Jackson looked like he had watched hundreds of years go by, and was just now feeling the weight of all his years.

Even though she didn't know what to make of Percy's behavior, all she knew was that she wanted to see the old Percy. The one who didn't look like a 100 year old man. She wanted to help him feel better.

Piper rested a hand on Percy's shoulder.

"I may have not gone through as much as you have, but that doesn't mean I don't understand. It's hard to lose people, and even harder to keep going. All we can do is try to make the most out of the time we have left and not dwell on the things we can't change."

With no answer and determined to make Percy feel better, she changed the subject to something a little happier.

"You know," Piper said with a smile, "We could head to my room and watch movies. I think we can both use some down time."

Percy turned and looked to her. He studied her, as if trying to find ulterior motives to her suggestion. He was silent for so long, Piper was worried he would shoot her down. Finally, he smiled his familiar lopsided smirk and answered, "That sounds like a lot better idea then what were doing now."

Piper led him down the hall to her room, where she laid out all the movies she had brought with her on the trip. Unsurprisingly, Percy chose Finding Nemo.

Piper went to the kitchen to go prepare some snacks, only to find Percy following her.

"You know it sounds good?" Percy inquired.

"No. What is it?"

"Breakfast."

Piper was confused at first. Who has breakfast in the middle of the night? She quickly found out the Percy wasn't kidding. She watched him grab two plates and willed a blue pancakes and maple syrup to appear on each plate, and wasted no time drowning one plate in syrup, and added the normal amount to the other. He then willed orange juice to appear in both glasses.

She looked at him like he had grown two heads when he poured syrup into each of the glasses.

Piper eyed the glasses. "Orange juice and maple syrup?"

Percy looked offended, "I doubt you've ever tried it. I spilled some maple syrup in my orange juice a while ago, and it's not half bad," he handed her a glass and smirked. "You try it."

She took a sip, expecting it to taste weird, but was surprised to find that it was a strange combination that worked well together.

Apparently, her face showed how much she enjoyed the drink.

"Taste good?" Percy had the nerve to look smug.

"This is amazing! This might just be the best accident that has ever happened!" she exclaimed as she bounced on the balls of her feet.

Percy laughed at her excitement, and that only prompted Piper to laugh alongside him. She had never thought that Percy would be this much fun to hang out with.

They laughed until their stomachs hurt and tears came to their eyes. At this point, Piper had no idea what was so funny, but she was surprised that someone could make her laugh that hard.

Once the giggles subsided, Percy tried to steer them back on topic.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go back and watch the movie!"

He grabbed the plates while Piper grab the drinks, careful not to mix up her drink and Percy's. They quickly entered Piper's room with their food, and started up the movie.

They spent the rest the night eating pancakes and watching movies. After the 5th movie, Percy had fallen asleep, head resting on her shoulder. Instead of moving him, she curled up into her pillow and fell asleep.

The next morning, the rest of the Argo 2 crew stared at Percy and Piper like they were aliens as they watched them prepare identical breakfasts.

They were once again having blue pancakes with maple syrup infused orange juice. Jason was the first to ask.

"What happened to them?"

Frank shook his head. "I don't know, but they look fine. I have never seen them so close. Maybe we should leave them."

Hazel smiled and replied, "I think it's wonderful. Look how they're doing everything in sync! It's like they had prepared this."

Annabeth gave a small smile. Whatever happened last night, it had done nothing but bring Percy and Piper closer together, and she was glad to see her friends getting along.

Annabeth walked to the counter and grabbed a plate and a cup, willing scrambled eggs and bacon with a coffee to appear.

This shook the rest of the crew out of their daze, and went on with breakfast as usual.

This quickly became a routine for Piper and Percy. Before they went to sleep, they would meet up and decide what they were having for breakfast. Then, they would watch a movie or two, and hope they didn't fall asleep in each other's bedrooms.

After a few days, the crew got used to Percy and Piper's weird behavior. They just accepted how close Percy and Piper had become.

Percy and Annabeth we're still going strong, the same for Jason and Piper. Percy and Piper were just as friendly towards the other crew members as they were with each other. Just without all of the in-sync movements.

The only downside to their new-found friendship was the pranks that they pulled on the rest of the crew.

They were in for a long ride.

Whoo! My first fanfiction is done! I would love to know what you have thought about this. I am always looking for opportunities to improve.
