Last Post and Chorus
An azure hedgehog stood beside ebony and red hedgehog alongside them was two smaller hedgehogs. The two smaller hedgehogs were both male and held onto their parents Sonic and Shadow who had been lost body parts on the day 13th of May, 97 years ago.
Sonic had lost his left arm in shell bombing during a charge over the top of the trenches and usually had a prosthetic arm but not today as with Shadow who was in a wheel chair due to having lost both legs by stepping onto a mine in the same attack.
Sonic and Shadow's family was immortal and aged to adulthood but apart from that never aged into old age and both parents watch their kids who were Manic and Silver who were 7 and 8 look around No Man's Land and walk around the cemetery to pay their respects to the fallen, due to their parents background as soldiers.
Sonic and Shadow Had joined the army in 1914 and both were involved in the first battle of Ypres and both had been promoted to Sgt. Days before the battle of Frezenburg.
After they were injured they moved together to a country where homosexuality was not illegal and after a century both decided to have some kids and settled down as they had wanted kids but decided to wait till homosexuality became legal more or less everywhere in Europe and also waited for the aspect of being safe whilst doing it to come into it too.
The family were also here because it was Remembrance Day and were dressed nicely and all wearing poppies on them and after a while Manic and Silver got tired and sleepy so Sonic and Shadow decided to put them in the car and then both looked at each other as the last post and chorus played as the sun went down and looked each other and kissed each other and placed flowers on two graves labelled "Pvt Miles T. Prower "and "Capt. Knuckles M. Emerald" then both looked at the sun and read and quoted ;
"They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor do the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them."
After they headed to the car and Sonic helped Shadow into their specialized mobility vehicle as they drove back home holding onto their hands on the gear stick as they drove to their house, their home forever.
Sonic helped Shadow out and carried Manic whilst Shadow carried Silver on his lap and went inside into their home and put Silver and Manic to bed and kissed both goodnight and headed to their room down the corridor , they lived in a big cottage with wide corridors and doorways and was very wheelchair friendly.
Shadow and Sonic looked each other deeply and kissed deeply in love and even after a century or more their love was stronger than ever and after they that decided to head into bed, whilst they helped each other strip into their night clothes and got into bed and held each other tightly and peacefully like what they had always did ever since the first time they slept together and both fell in a very deep sleep.
