Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor Who. That, my friend, would be called a dream come I don't.

"Please?"Rose stuck her bottom lip out, looking at him with her sad little eyes.

"Rose, why do we have to carve a pumpkin? We'll just end up getting orange guts all over ourselves?"

"Doctor, it's tradition. You don't mess with tradition!"

He took one look at her, and smirked.

"Okay, well, YOU do, but you shouldn't. And anyways, Gram used to love to, and she would really want me to keep on doing it, for old time's sake."

He looked at her, trying to find the words to retaliate. Yet he could think of nothing in response that wouldn't make him sound like a jerk, so he sighed.

"Fine,"he murmured, defeated.

"Yay! Thank you!"Rose pecked his cheek. "I'm going to grab a jacket. Need anything before we go pick out the pumpkin?"

"Nope, I'm good."

"Alright, I'll be quick."

And she was back in thirty seconds. Anyone could tell that this was important to Rose, and so the Doctor wanted to get her the best pumpkin they could find.

There were many that looked dead;too much like ghosts. They were a sickly pale orange with brown crud on them. Then there were some tall ones, but they looked like orange Christmas trees!

Finally, they found a beautiful, plump pumpkin. It was round as a globe, and a vibrant orange. They headed back to the TARDIS, and the Doctor offered to carve it for her, though he obviously didn't want to.

"It's fine, I can do it,"Rose said.

The Doctor looked at her skeptically. Not often, but on occasions, Rose could be a bit clumsy. He wasn't sure he trusted her with a knife.

She rolled her eyes and said, "Doctor, I've been doing this since I was five. I'll be fine." And he had no option but to let her do it.

She worked and looked like she was having the time of her life while doing it. Th eyes were rounded trinagles, the mouth had squared edges. Finally, after getting the gunk and the guts out of the middle, Rose smiled with pride.

The Doctor gazed at her lovingly. He loved how she got excited over such little things. He loved her grin. He loved her laughter. He loved her stubborness. He loved her.
