Deep in the forest region on Lyoko, a young girl wandered around, like she was lost. A closer look at this girl would reveal that she looked exactly like Yumi when she was virtualized to Lyoko. However, the expression on this girl's face was one of confusion, like she didn't understand where she was or what she was doing there. She couldn't even remember her own name. The only thing she remembered was the name of the being that had created her: XANA.
Meanwhile, at Kadic Jr. High, Odd had just barely made it to his first class in time after oversleeping. Ulrich shook his head, knowing why Odd didn't get enough sleep. "I told you not to stay up so late playing that game, Odd." Odd just stuck his tongue out at Ulrich playfully and then sat down. Jeremie, who was sitting next to Ulrich and Odd, suddenly yawned. Ulrich looked at Jeremie. "You didn't get much sleep, either, Jeremie?" Jeremie shook his head. "I was up late helping Aelita try to find out how XANA created that clone of Yumi. If he did it once, he could do it again." Ulrich and Odd looked at each other, knowing this was a serious matter. Odd, of course, had to make a joke about it. "What if he makes a clone of Sissy! That WOULD be scary!" Ulrich frowned. "No kidding. One Sissy chasing after me is bad enough." They were suddenly interrupted by a stern voice. "Ulrich! Odd! Is there something you'd like to share with the class?" The two boys looked up to see Mrs. Hertz staring right at them. Ulrich lowered his head. "No, ma'am…" Mrs. Hertz then went back to teaching the class.
Meanwhile, in Yumi's class, Yumi had also been thinking about her clone, but for a different reason. Deep down, she couldn't help wondering what had happened to her clone. Did she just disappear after they returned to the past? Or was she still out there somewhere? Yumi shook her head. "Why am I thinking about this? It's over now. I don't need to worry about it, anymore." Suddenly, her teacher spoke up to get her attention. "Yumi! Repeat the line from this story that I just read to the class!" Yumi looked up in shock and then down at her book. "Ummm…'a rose by any other name would…'" The teacher shook his head. "Miss Ishiyama, you weren't even paying attention! I want you to stay here after class!" Yumi nodded. "Yes, sir…" Emily, who shared this class period with Yumi, looked over at Yumi with an expression of concern on her face. "Yumi's been spacing out a lot, lately. Maybe I should tell Ulrich after class," Emily thought to herself.
After school, Ulrich was waiting outside the school gates for Yumi. As soon as Yumi walked by, Ulrich called out to her. "Hey, Yumi!" Yumi stopped and turned around. "Oh, Ulrich…shouldn't you be in your dorm?" Ulrich nodded. "Yeah, but Emily told me about what happened in class today. Are you all right?" Yumi looked away from Ulrich. "Yeah, I'm fine. I've just had a lot on my mind. Well, I'll see you tomorrow, Ulrich." She then walked off before Ulrich could say another word.
In Jeremie's dorm, Jeremie was once again hard at work trying to get the materialization program to work. Aelita was also doing research on her end when she suddenly noticed something strange on the screen. She brought it up to find it was a message. She quickly contacted Jeremie. "Jeremie, I found a strange message while I was looking up information for materialization!" Jeremie blinked in confusion. "What kind of message? Is it from Xana?" Aelita shook her head. "I don't think so. I'll send it to you." Jeremie quickly glanced over the message as soon as it came up on his screen. The message only consisted of one sentence: "Help me find who I am."
