This is just a Oneshot I did while taking my senior finals. I know it's short but I'm working very hard to write another chapter for my other Lie To Me fic. Sorry for such a long break. Hope this will hold you guys over for now. Writers block sucks!

"Alec and I are separated."

The words rolled off her tongue and left her with a numb feeling in the pit of her stomach. Gillian didn't know how to feel at the moment. So many thoughts went through her head as she looked up at Cal who was standing in her office. An hour ago Emily had told Gillian that Cal was happiest when he was with her. She hadn't known at the time how to respond, but somehow she had taken the news from Alec calmly. Cal made her feel...loved. He made her feel as though she was needed.

"I'm sorry, love," Cal said apologetically. He reached up and placed his hand on her arm. Gillian's eyes welled up with tears which fell silently down her cheeks. She placed her hand on his chest feeling the starchy fabric of his jacket.

"I'm okay."

"No, your not." Cal spoke in a low voice . Before she could register what was happening Cal had wrapped his arms around her. Her natural reaction brought her to push her face into his neck. The faint scent of his cologne overwhelmed her senses and also her feelings. Cal had the same reaction to her. He pulled her closer to him. Cal knew she needed him just as he had needed her when Zoe had left. He held her while she cried. Finally, Gillian pulled away glancing up to meet Cal's eyes.

"Thank you. I'm sorry that I bring all my problems to you." She paused then said, "You just make everything better. Coming to work makes me forget all the crappy things that go in my life."

Cal reached for her hand but then stopped as if thinking of something else. Gillian didn't seem to notice. Her soft eyes still held his gaze. Gillian shifted. Cal had been silent for awhile and Gillian had to wonder what he was thinking.

Cal took a step forward and placed his hand on Gillian's face. Her startled expression made Cal smile. He bent closer letting his lips gently brush along hers. He pulled away slightly letting their faces still stay close. Cal could feel her breath on his lips. He closed the gap again, this time kissing her with more passion and desire. Gillian gently let her fingers move to his face. They pulled away from each other.

After another moment of silence, Cal whispered, "You deserve the best, love."
