Chapter 1
Seniors.
At least, that's what they are called now.
Although it may seem to go so slow, all the students believe that time is running out.
Especially for a certain female.
Blake simply sighed as she was walking down the silent hallways. She was wearing her sleepwear and carrying a book. She then stopped once she reached her dorm.
Well, their dorm. She opened the door, expecting someone to greet her.
There was no one. She noticed that the lights were all out.
"Weiss?" she softly called out, and there was a rustle in the bed. The girl in question shifted in the bed, yet no answer came. Blake smiled.
She then silently closed the door, and immediately went to the next dorm. She knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" then asked a voice. The door opened and Blake was greeted by a tank top wearing woman showcasing her glorious mane of blonde hair.
"Lovely hair as always, Yang." She then said. Yang scoffed. "What do you want?"
She showed her book. "Wanna read together?" she asked.
Yang then frowned. "Blake, you know we can't do that, right?"
Blake lowered her book, and she too was sad. "There's no harm in reading together, right?" she pleaded.
The other girl simply stared at her, shook her head and went back to her bed, leaving the door open for Blake to enter.
Morning came, and Weiss woke up all alone in her bed. She sat up, stretched, rubbed her eyes a bit and looked around.
There was no one else around except her.
Just perfect.
The door then opened and came in the one she yearned for during the night.
"Oh, Weiss! Good morn—"
"Don't talk to me." She then cut her off, getting a towel and entering the bathroom.
Blake was then left there at the doorway, holding the book she read with her last night. She sighed. "Dammit me…" she softly muttered as she placed the book on the bedside table.
A few minutes later, once Weiss got out of the bathroom, all freshened up, Blake immediately blocked her path.
"Weiss, we can talk about this." She said.
The shorter girl shook her head. "I said don't talk to me."
"Weiss please, just hear me out…" she then replied, hugging her. Weiss stood still.
She then kissed her head and made her look at her directly in the eye. "Yang and I just read a book together, that's all we did." She explained. She kissed her in the cheek. "I'm sorry."
Weiss closed her eyes, both in irritation and in pain once the words exited Blake's mouth. "Yang, huh?" she simply said, opening her eyes once more and looking away, her expression showing Blake very clearly how mad she was.
"Weiss…" she said, and the shorter girl simply went to the dorm's closet. She took out her uniform.
One of the most pristine and professional-looking uniforms out of the four main academies, Beacon Academy takes pride into such well-defined clothing, for both the male and female bodies.
There were rumors that such clothes never get dirty.
"It's a Saturday today…" said Blake, as Weiss was already wearing her socks. She then tied her hair to a ponytail.
"Miss Goodwitch wishes to see me." She said, going towards the door. "Don't follow me: I'll be quick." She added, and exited the dorm.
Once the door closed, Blake sat on the bed they share. She sighed and lied down.
"We'll be okay." she muttered softly, as she closed her eyes. "We'll be okay…" she then repeated.
"Thank you for coming, Miss Schnee. I'm well aware that you're busy and that our meeting is quite sudden." Glynda Goodwitch said as she was seated on the teacher's chair of some classroom.
Weiss simply smiled. "Oh no, not at all." She then replied. She was standing adjacent to where Glynda was seated, the thing between them being the table.
The older woman simply nodded as she then opened the drawer of the table and took out a single sheet of paper. "We'll be having our opening ceremony, as usual, for the entire student body since classes are to begin next week, specifically, on Monday."
The younger woman took the blank sheet of paper and simply stared at it.
"I want you to make a speech. A simple one, one that describes your experiences here in Beacon."
Weiss blinked twice. "What?" she uttered in disbelief.
Glynda looked at her, a bit surprised at her tone of shock. "Is there something wrong?"
She got out of her daze and shook her head. "Oh, sorry, it's nothing." She then said.
The older woman continued staring at her. "Something bugging your mind, Miss Schnee?" she asked.
Weiss looked away. Her cheeks suddenly showed a hint of redness. "It's more of a…personal thing, miss." She explained.
Glynda then removed her glasses and placed it on the table, and smiled small. "I understand. Whatever it is, I do hope you resolve it immediately. Such hindrances shouldn't get the better of us." She simply said.
The younger girl then looked back at her, and she was surprised to see her smiling, even if it was a small one. She always thought Glynda Goodwitch was someone who seem to have no inclination towards mirth.
Weiss smiled back and nodded. "Thank you, Miss Goodwitch." She replied. The older woman nodded as well and gestured for her to go. She was dismissed.
"You're back!" Blake then greeted once Weiss opened the door. She hugged the smaller girl. She kissed the top of her head too.
"Blake…you seem desperate." Weiss then said, in a tone not even she could describe what.
Blake then stopped hugging her and pouted at her. "Meanie." She said.
She then sighed, and gave a smile. "Sorry…" she said, and hugged her again. Blake got surprised, but hugged back.
After the hug, Blake took the blank sheet of paper that she was holding. "What's this for?" she asked, holding it up.
"Miss Goodwitch tasked me to make a welcoming speech. It's for the opening ceremony on Monday." She explained.
Blake just stared at the paper, nodded and placed it on the bedside table.
"Um, I was planning on working on it now." She added.
"Oh, of course." Blake simply replied.
Yet she went back in front of Weiss without the blank sheet of paper.
"Weiss, I'm sorry." She said.
The other girl kept silent.
"I know we both had a rough start, but I can assure you, everything would soon fall into place and—"
"Don't do it again."
"…what?"
Weiss hugged her again. "Promise me you won't do it again." She repeated. Blake hugged her back.
She waited for her answer.
"Blake, please."
Blake kissed the top of her head again.
"I will…try." She finally said. It wasn't the answer Weiss expected, but she accepted it nonetheless.
"I'm still sorry for making you mad early in the morning." Blake then added. Weiss then stopped hugging her and took her hand. "It's alright…" she softly said, as she led her to the bed.
"So Blake, how should I start my speech?" she asked the taller girl.
There came no reply.
"Blake?" she called out. She then heard her soft snores. Weiss giggled.
"I see." She then said. She stared at the blank sheet of paper, letting Blake sleep. Her arms were around the shorter girl, and Weiss was still wearing the uniform.
"Oh Blake…" she softly said. "You still can't get over her, don't you?"
Weiss sighed, and laid her head onto the crook of Blake's neck. "I love you too, you know…" she added.
