Binky sat up in a cold sweat.
The darkness was blinding. The shape of his posters, closer and window showed in the darkness.
The moon shone through the window.
"A nightmare...just a stupid nightmare." Binky thought.
Looking at his hands, he saw the sweat and white of his knuckles.
It was some dream if it scared him this bad...nothing to worry about...so why was he shacking!
'I was just dreaming!...But it did feel real'.
A knock on the door made Binky yelp in shock and stare at his door in fear till a voice called to him.
"HEY B! You ok!"
Dee...he must have stayed over again!
"GO AWAY! You hound dog!... I'm just fine...*tears* I'm...fine..."
The door opened to see Dee in a sweat top and stripped PJ bottoms. "Kid...I now a scream when I hear one...I am a cop."
Binky just rolled his eyes and slipped back under the covers.
A moment of quiet was thick in the air.
Binky suddenly heard the door close and the soft sound of feet padding over to the bed.
"...B...I know you had a bad dream but if... if ya'd just talk to me..."
Binky felt Dee sitting on his bed, then a hand on his shoulder.
"What was it?"
Binky didn't move for a while.
Deciding to talk, he sat up and looked at his legs under the blankets.
Then he got out from under the covers and hugged Dee around his waist.
"I...I dreamed...that my dad came back and tried to take me away...*tears* He said... [Hic] he said that if I didn't go with him...he'd...he'd sh...shoot you and Ryo!
I thought Ryo would pull me back saying I belong to him...but he !
didn't [hic-hic]...He wasn'there!
Dad said Randy was dead because of me!...He then stared ch-chasing me with a big baseball bat and gun! He said 'I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!'...he said I had betrayed him [Hic] and then I heard I gun go off... [Hic] I woke up..."
Binky sat and cried harder.
All the while Dee just hugged him.
"Man..."Thought Dee; "This kid sure was scared!"
After Binky stopped crying, Dee carried B to the kitchen and made some hot chocolate.
After some time Dee spoke.
"...kid... [Sigh] kid...dreams are not real and...Oh shit!
KID! You got nothing to worry about! You dad pass away and Ryo would never leave ya!
The guy is like a mother to ya! He always looks out for ya! He got you into a great school and you're on the basketball team! He gives ya a good thump if ya act bad and...and...
Ryo loves you...and...So do I."
Binky looked up.
"[sigh]...I love you too...it's like I'm looking at a min-me!
I was just like you! When I was your age my friend got killed...Dad as part of the reason...but...I still loved him...
My Dad got pumped full of lead too...but he still loved me...He told me to stay on the good path before he died in my arms...and that's why I want to make sure that you and Ryo and safe and-"
Dee felt Binky jump into his lap.
"I'M SORRY! *sob* I just want Ryo for myself! [Hic...hic] I don't want him hurt by anyone...Like my other dad but if you and him love each other very much...I won't stop ya...but...but with you tell me about your dad...*sniff* I'd like to know..."
Smiling Dee pulled Binky higher onto his lap and began the tale of his childhood.
Unknown to them. Ryo was hiding behind the door and was crying quietly...he had heard everything.
"Oh Dee...you are sweet.." Ryo went back to bed.
Soon the boys joint Ryo in bed and hugged each other tightly.
"Dad...I know you're not happy up there most of the time...
You'll always be my Dad...
But Ryo and Dee kneed me as much as I need them...
I love ya Dad...always."
