He said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood is crying to Me from the ground.

Genesis 4:10

Whitey told Dan Scott the Genesis quote and Dan walked out of the office wondering how much did Whitey Durham really know? Whitey may not have really known anything but he suspected enough. It was fairly easy to guess. He noticed from the time Keith was killed Dan began acting strange and as time went on he got stranger and stranger.

Whitey pretended to be a silent character in the background, just an old basketball coach who wants to win the state championships. He took in everything; Dan, Lucas, Nathan, Haley, Peyton, Brooke, Karen, Keith, Deb, Rachel, everyone in Tree Hill.

Whitey didn't have to be part of the drama he just knew that he had to take in everything. He noticed that the little diabetic girl, Abby wasn't crazy and went into basically hiding as soon as Keith was killed. He had suspicions about Dan from the time he was a high school senior and left Karen. Whitey realized it was mean to Karen and Lucas to make Dan leave but he knew in the long run it would make their lives better.

The Day Dan Turns Himself In

Whitey was not surprised to find out it was Dan who killed Keith. He had had his suspicions the past few months. He had always thought Dan was a criminal from the time he met him as a little wimpy tiny freshman.

Whitey was happy that day. Finally Dan Scott was being punished.

Whitey had been there the whole time silently. He was observing everything and everyone.

He was always there in the background they just thought he wasn't paying attention.
