My fellow sisters and brothers fly around the many human buildings. They were fairly small but seemed warm and full of happiness. These huge monsters or what humans call "cars" sped by heading toward a building called a visitor center. I heard one of my sisters say "Finally were here my tired wings can't keep up with you guys." I looked at her . She had a beautiful array of colors, her face was a tan color her beak was orange just like male cardinals and tints of red around her tan body. As for me my body was red darker than the colors of a sunrise, my beak was orange and surrounded by black tufts of feathers, my wings had a black tint on the tips.
"Hey Tulip, were in North Carolina right." I asked
"No, duh where else Antarctica" she replied.
Many giggles erupted from the group as we started to land into the nearest pine tree. I wanted to peck tulip, but hey what is family when they fight. I looked around and saw a female child with a weird contraption. She started to giggle and like magic, seeds appeared on her hand. In history we are known to stay away from humans, but who would pass up an opportunity like this. I flew right onto her shoulder hoping with all my might that my sister Flash didn't see me. The little girl looked at me surprised .She raised her arm to my legs and I hopped on. As I began to eat there was a huge yell "AXEL COME HERE RIGHT THIS SECOND!" I shivered in fear and looked at my new friend, she looked back at me and her eyes sparkled with understanding. I bowed my head and flew away. As I was flying towards the tree it hit me I had finally made a friend. I will never forget even to this day.
