It was quite a windy day that day. Kyoya was planning out all the budgets for the next month, as always. But this day was different. He felt…like he was being watched. He glanced around, seeing nobody in sight. He thought to himself, "Maybe it's a stalker?" The next few days we're the same. He always felt like he was being followed. He would occasionally run into the hosts as he was walking through the school grounds during break every day, but he noticed he never saw Kaoru. He thought "Is it him? No, it can't be him…he would never do that."
Of course, the next day was the same. He still felt followed, and he never saw Kaoru when he felt that he was. Then, he heard footsteps behind him. He quickly turned around, and saw Kaoru hiding behind a tree, staring at him. He fled, hoping that he wasn't seen. Of course, he was. Kyoya was much too fast for him to escape from. Not too soon after that, Kyoya caught up with him. He grabbed his arm and said, "Are you….following me?" Kaoru looked away, his face turning red. "I-I just thought you were…so cool…" Kaoru said, stuttering in between words.
Kyoya blushed. He didn't know what to say. Kaoru freed himself of Kyoya's tight grasp. He then ran away from the awkward situation. But it was no use. He would just run into Kyoya again when they were at the Host Club. When it was time to go to the Host Club, as Kyoya was reaching for the doorknob, someone else's hand met up with his. He glanced over. It was Kaoru. Kaoru saw him too, and his face turned bright red in a split second. He walked back a few steps, allowing Kyoya to enter the room first. Kyoya walked in, Kaoru entering behind him. Ever since Kyoya found out Kaoru had been following him, it seemed as if Kaoru were avoiding him.
The next day, he was reading under a tree. It was his favorite book. What he didn't realize was Kaoru was on the other side, staring at him. Kyoya heard the sound of a footstep, and turned around. Kaoru panicked, and ran away. He tripped on a tree root, falling face first in the ground. Kyoya walked over, holding out his hand. "Are you okay?" as he helped him up. Kaoru placed his hand in Kyoya's and helped himself up. Kyoya handed him a handkerchief. "You should clean your face off." He said, and walked off. "He's…so cool…" Kaoru thought to himself, once again. He looked down at the ground, and saw a piece of folded paper.
He picked up the paper, and carefully unfolded it. The note read: "Please meet me in the music room tomorrow after school, so you can return my handkerchief. –Kyoya Ootori" Even though Kaoru was too embarrassed to be around Kyoya, he decided to go anyway.
After school the next day, Kaoru went into the music, as the note said. He saw Kyoya sitting on the couch. "Come have a seat." He said. Kaoru sat next to him, not saying a word. "H-Here's your handkerchief back." Kaoru said, stuttering. But instead of taking the handkerchief, Kyoya placed his hand on Kaoru's. Kaoru's face turned red. "Wh-Wh-What are you d-doing?" Kaoru said. "You like me, don't you?" Kyoya gently rubbed his hand across Kaoru's face. Slowly bringing his lips to his..."W-Well, that is...uhh…" Before he could finish his sentence, their lips touched each other. And then Kaoru knew. He knew that Kyoya was the one for him.
