How did he get here? The ground was burning at his back and he tried to cry out but something in his throat wouldn't work. Rossi willed himself to move, but his limbs stayed limply at his sides. Besides the heat on his back, he wasn't in any pain, and slowly the heat started to fade.

He could see the flames roaring out of the corner of his eye, and that was when he remembered that the car had exploded. The car had exploded? There was no way he could survive that. No this was it, he was dying.

Morgan was driving the car. Morgan can't die now. He's too young, he has too much potential. Dave started to feel an odd panicking in his chest. He couldn't die now. He had so much left to do. He had just met his daughter, his grandson. He couldn't leave now.

He didn't want to leave his friends, they were his family. Who else would teach them how to cook? They'd starve! Maybe he wasn't dying? Does dying take this long? They say that as you're dying your life flashes before your eyes. When does that kick in?

He suddenly remembered his time in Vietnam. All of those young men had died. Had they laid here like he was waiting for their lives to flash before their eyes. And Caroline? She had been with him when she'd died. God he missed her. He supposed he would see her soon enough.

He would we Erin too, and Jason. Perhaps he would be able to watch over those he loved? Make sure they were okay. He supposed if he could ensure his family was okay, dying wouldn't be so bad.

A warm feeling was waging over him. This was it. This had to be it. He wasn't afraid, he welcomed his new fate, and slowly David Rossi's life began to flash before his eyes.
