Faitsu's poem
This short story is something I planned for quite a while, and the moment seemed fitting to launch it, so here it is. The main part, of course, is the poem. I'm just a German writer trying to explore every part of literature, so don't be too discriminating with my skills at versifying.
I want to thank Leafpuff for inspiring me with her Songfic Steal your heart. That work is crippled by now, since she was forced to remove the lines from the song, but her other content is awesome as well, so please check it out!
Please share your praise, criticism and ideas in the review section, I'd always like to know what people like and dislike about my work!
I don't own the characters, places or Pokemon itself, and I have no intentions to earn money with this story in any way!
Rakutsu sneaked in through the open window, focused to make no sound at all. It was about 2 o' clock in the night, and the full moon illuminated the private chamber of Faitsu. Now that he purloined the pendant with the symbol of Team Plasma on it from Hugh, he amassed enough evidence to reason searching her room, and finding any token would be all he needed to bust her.
Of course, he felt bad by violating her privacy. During the past month, he actually started to like the shy girl that kept rejecting him. Maybe he even liked her because she kept rejecting him: She was not as easy to wrap around the finger as the other girls.
But all this didn't matter now. He was an officer, and he had to stay stern and concentrated. He looked at her, lying in her bed. She looked thus cute when she was sleeping. Alone keeping the chance to admire this beauty was worth investing an incredible effort in not waking her up.
He searched the room for anything a normal sixteen-year-old girl wouldn't have. After he found nothing at the desk, on the walls and at the ground, he skulked over to the wardrobe. In it was, next to some versions of her daily clothing, an old uniform of the original Team Plasma.
He put on his winning smile until he noticed crumpled piece of paper lying above the dress. Slowly, he unfolded the sheet. It read:
Who do you think you are?
To steal my time every day...
Why can't I run away
whenever you come and say 'hey'?
I hate how you make me dropping my guard,
I hate that you can't stop smiling.
I hate how you annoy me whenever we talk,
I hate that you're so beguiling!
Who do you think you are?
To steal my comfort every day...
I want to scream at you,
but helpless here I stay!
I hate that you're so close to figuring it out,
I hate that you're surveying my past.
I hate how you always remind me of him,
I hate how you force this to last!
Who do you think you are?
To steal my heart every day...
Oh fate, just tell me what's
the reason you crossed my way!
I hate how you make me feel in my heart,
I hate how I fell for your touch.
I hate that I love you without a doubt,
I hate that I love you so much!
Rakutsu closed his eyes, fighting with himself inwardly. Then, he took another look at her. He couldn't do it! The young man rumpled the paper again and laid it back at its place. He closed the door of the cabinet and walked back to the window.
As he was about to leave, he turned towards her one last time in this night. „Sleep well, my princess. Tomorrow, I'll break your curse...", he whispered. Then, he was gone.
Meanwhile, Faitsu had a strange dream about a knight that came to rescue her from the evil dragon with the long green hair who trapped her with endless flattering. And when she woke up, she knew who her hero had been. And she knew who may save her!
