It was two weeks after the fight with Buu, and Bulma was having a get together to celebrate the victory. Everyone was crowded around Goku and Vegeta like kindergarteners during story time.
"Then I threw the spirit bomb and that was it." Goku said as he told the story of the battle to his friends and family.
"Wow, you and Vegeta are great when you fight together dad." Goten said with an excited look.
"Yeah, I guess we make a great team together. Eh buddy?" Goku chirped putting an arm around Vegeta who sat next to him. Vegeta had a look of embarrassment and discomfort on his face.
"Alright that does it. You and I need to have a talk Kakorrot." Vegeta said standing up leaving the living room. Goku still sat by his friends with a look of bewilderment.
"Did I do something wrong?" He asked. Everyone just shrugged their shoulders and continued to socialize.
"Kakorrot! Get over here you idiot." Vegeta shouted from a nearby room. Goku jumped up and walked to see what this was all about. He saw Vegeta sitting at a table with his hands folded on the table.
"Have a seat." Vegeta said calmly as he gestured to the chair directly across the table. Goku felt like he was visiting the Principal's office. (I know Goku didn't go to school, but whatever.) The goofy saiyan sat in front of the disgruntled prince.
"Hey I was thinking, maybe you could call me Goku from now on. I just feel were past this Kakorrot stuff, you know since were friends and all." Goku said with a ridiculous smile. Vegeta slapped his forehead and shook his head.
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about." Vegeta said sternly.
Goku looked at him confused "You mean calling me Kakorrot?"
"No, our friendship you idiot." Vegeta snapped.
"Oh, why didn't you say so? So, what's up?" Goku asked gleefully.
"You see, it's just that I don't think we can be friends." Vegeta stated. Goku looked across the table shocked.
"What, why not?" Goku asked intently.
Vegeta sighed then said "Let me put this lightly… I hate you."
Goku was taken back and hurt by the statement "That was putting it lightly? I don't understand."
"What's not to understand? I thought I put it pretty clearly." Vegeta said gruffly.
"Why do you hate me?" Goku said with tears in his eyes.
"Oh Kakorrot, Don't do this." Vegeta said. Goku began to full on cry with tears pouring down his face.
"I don't get it. What did I do wrong?" Goku asked sniffling.
"It's not you, it's me." Vegeta said getting out of his chair and walking up to Goku. Goku once again began to burst out in tears.
"There there, please don't cry." Vegeta said hugging Goku and patting his back, as if he were a toddler.
Vegeta looked up and replaced his look of concern with one of terror. There stood all of the people at the party laughing at him.
