*Chapter 1: Meet Spyro the Dragon*

In the realm of fairies, there is a young purple dragon running around the fields with the young fairies, chasing sheep. The dragon has light brown horns, light brown wings, magenta eyes, and a gold Mohawk. The sheep shrieked in fear as it's being chased by the dragon and the fairies.

"C'mon, Spyro! You're quicker than that! Catch up on that sheep!" One male fairy said with a smirk, flying ahead of the dragon. The purple dragon laughed and charges ahead of the fairy to catch up on the sheep. But the sheep made it over the hill to join the other sheep. Spyro stopped on top of the hill to see the view of the meadow filled with sheep. He sat down, smiling at the sight of them as the other fairies joined the young dragon.

"Well, the chase is done. Now what?" Spyro asked his fairy friends.

"Let's take a flight." A female fairy said. She flew up as the other fairies follow her up in the sky, laughing. Spyro remains on the hill, watching them in silent. He lays down on the soft grass and let out a yawn.
All his life, Spyro was raised by fairies since he was hatched. His mother, Lola, took him in and raise him to be his family. Yet, Spyro wondered where he actually came from. Even Lola doesn't even know how the egg got to the fairy realm in the first place. The fairies don't have the answer for Spyro of how he got here before he hatched, not even his mother. Maybe someday he will find the answer.
Spyro let out a sigh and got up. He walked down the hill to get back to the Forest of Fairies. He spreads his wings, made a jump, and fly in the air to get to the forest. He looks down to see the view of the meadow. He smiled to see some more sheep hanging around, eating grass, and skip along.

"Hey, Spyro!" A voice called from one of the trees. Spyro halts and look down to see a male fairy with blue hair, wearing a green top with tights, and boots. "Where you been?"

"Hey, Beck. I'm just...well, heading back home." Spyro replied. "The other guys are flying around above if you want to join them."

"Oh no. I was wondering if you like to hang out at the lake with me." Beck asked with a smile. Spyro smiled at him. Beck is a good fairy teen, and loved hanging around with Spyro. The purple dragon accepted the invite and follow the fairy across the trees to get to the lake. Maybe Spyro could go for a swim.

Spyro has his feet in the water, and Beck is resting on his back. Tiny fish swim away from Spyro's feet to avoid those sharp claws of his. Spyro brought his wings down to soak them, feeling cooler than ever. Beck flew off of Spyro's back and spotted some colorful dragonflies.

"Look at them. They sure do love to play and be around the lake." Beck said. Spyro smiled at the sight of the dragonflies. What he learned that these dragonflies have some magic in them. Magic that they can give to dragons only. Spyro wanted to know how it's going to work if he had a dragonfly, but one of them must grow fond him first. It won't happen to Spyro since he is living with the fairies and there is no danger going on.

"Hey Beck, ever wondered about the other realms?" Spyro asked, watching dragonflies fly around the flowerbeds.

"Yeah." Beck replied. "I heard about some places that have many strange creatures. Why? You wanted to know about the dragon realm?"

"Well, kind of." Spyro said, getting out of the water. "I'm the only dragon in this place and realize that there are no any other dragons around. Just fairies, dragonflies, and...same stuff around." Beck came in front of Spyro's face, petting his snout.

"Hey, we could go out for an adventure sometime. But, we don't know where the portals are in this world." He told the purple dragon. "Maybe you can talk to your mom. She must know where the portals are."

"Maybe. But, I hope she won't be upset about me traveling outside this world. I can take care of myself. She taught me how to fly, control my fire breath, everything that a mother could teach a kid." Spyro said. "Still, I bet she was wondering what the life is like outside this realm." He jumped across the stream and run down the grass as Beck follows.
As they disappear, a yellow dragonfly watches from the flowerbeds. It cocks its head to the side, buzzing to itself in wonder. It started to fly off to follow the purple dragon and the fairy.

In Summer Forest, there are two young fawns grazing in the grass. But, they are not alone. There is a faun with dark red hair, sky blue eyes, and wearing a green top. She looks up to see a castle with banners. She gasped at the sight when they slowly change. Banners showing a creature. The faun knew exactly who that is.

"Ripto." She spoke with a look in her eyes. The fawns look up after hearing that name they fear most of all.

"Huh?" A young male deer asked. He has blue eyes, brown fur, and little antlers. His sister with orange hair in a ponytail with yellow/gold fur with white spots, and green eyes, look up at the faun.

"He's here." The faun said. "Hazel, Summer, whatever you do, don't go near the castle grounds. Who knows what Ripto will do to creatures if they come near."

"I thought Ripto was banished." Summer asked. "Why is he here?"

"I don't know." The faun replied. Hazel came over to her.

"What should we do, Elora? Everyone should know about this." He said.

"Yes. What we know one thing that Ripto hates the most." Elora said. Hazel and Summer waited for the answer. Elora faces them. "Dragons."

*Author's Note: Yes, I am making a Spyro story, but it'll be different from the classic games. I don't want to follow the Legend of Spyro series. I went to Wikipedia to try to look up about Spyro's past, but remain unknown. So, I thought it'll be a cool idea that Spyro will be raised by the fairies, and then move on to the games' stories. But, this will be "somewhat" related to Ripto's Rage because most of us like Ripto than any other villain. Since you all love my Crash stories, I will start with Spyro and someday I will write a Crash and Spyro crossover.
Hope you enjoy and if you don't like it, don't read at all. This is just for next year's 20th Anniversary of Spyro. Thanks for reading!*
