Jacob's P.O.V

I was lounging around at Bella and Edward's place, emptying out their fridge. Afterall, the only people who ate around here was me and Renesmee.

"Stuffing your face?" I heard Renesmee ask behind me.

"Um. No, 'course not." I smiled and she laughed, her beautiful brown curls bouncing around her shoulders. She'd grown rapidly, already looking like a 14 year old. The little kid I once knew was long gone, and a more serious look could be seen in her milk chocolate eyes. She was the picture of beauty, well, she always had been. Bella and Edward had given me the heads up that they didn't mind if our friendship turned into something closer. Man, I suppose the bloodsucker could be ok sometimes.

I saw Edward smile to himself when we both walked back in the family room.

Stop listening! I yelled in my thoughts.

His expression remained amused.

My thoughts were broken. Emmett was yelling at Rosalie.

"Hey! I was watching that!" Emmett yelled at Rosalie.

"Not anymore!" Rosalie smirked.

Rosalie had changed the channel from the game to some chick flick.

Jasper was trying to calm Emmett down when he shouted at him too.

"Jasper! Stop your stupid emotion shi-" Emmett stopped in mid-cuss.

"What? You don't usually hold back from swearing at everyone you can, something must be wrong!" Bella joked.

"Mum, what's for dinner?" Nessie asked Bella.

Alice grinned. "Human, if that boy dare thinks he can just stroll up our drive."

Carlise frowned. "Alice." he warned her.

"Hey, I was just kidding!" she held her arms up as if he was a policeman.

I heard footsteps proceeding nearby and heard a heart beating quickly..

I felt Nessie shift uncomfortably next to me.

"What?" I asked her.

"Nothing." But like her Mum, she was a horrible lier.

Everyone had gone silent to hear the explanation for the human boy approaching the door.

"Look, it's just some guy I know, ok?" Ness hurried. Unfortunately, she had picked up another useless trait of Bella's. She blushed bright red.

"Oooh, little Loch Ness has got a boyfriend! Ha!" Emmett laughed loudly.

Bella elbowed him in the ribs, so hard that he doubled over.

"OW!" he yelled.

Renesmee shot her mother a grateful look.

"Approaching house...in 5...4...3..." Jasper counted off, like he was counting a spaceship launch.

Renesmee hurried out the room to go greet whoever it was.

By now, everyone had broke out into laughter and wild chatter. But I was still wondering who was at the door.

I snuck out pretending to go to the bathroom down the hall, but swiftly went into another room. I was beyond curious.

"Hey Ness." I heard a teenage boy say.

"Hey Josh!" Josh? Whatever, he will always just be some punk to me.

"Wanna head out?" Josh asked Ness.

"'Kay. Bye Jacob." She said giggling as she poked her head around the door of the room I was in.

I opened my mouth in response, but didn't know what to say.

Then the 'Josh' kid followed her and I stared. He had black spiked hair and blue eyes. He tried to not quiver in fear.

"Uhh...hey?" He said it more like a question.

"Hey there. I'm Jacob, Nessies friend." I felt like ripping his head off.

Josh looked at Ness for confirmation.

"Yeah, we've known each other since the day I was born." She said casually.

"Um, cool. Well we better get going. Bye." He said and in a flash they were out the door.

I watched them walk off and saw Renesmee toss her head back laughing like she'd done earlier. I sighed. Renesmee really must be like her mother. Because like Bella, I just couldn't have her.
