My name- is Buttercup. I live with Primrose Everdeen, (my favorite), Katniss Everdeen, (the worst), and their mom. Now let me tell you how I got the way I am now, and where I came from. I was born in a small place who-knows-where, and I was one of six from my mother and father. I was then runt of the litter and I always thought that I would live a normal and boring life until one day they came.
I lived in the little house near the lake Katniss refers to as her secret place. One day (about three years later) I was playing a game of last-kitten-standing when four humans came in, they didn't notice us at first but soon after they searched for food they saw us and their eyes got really wide. They tried to grab us and I ran into wall that probably broke my nose and then into fireplace. When they found me they stuffed me in a bag along with my siblings and we were moving, after a while I started to get angry. I went into shock, I didn't know what they were going to do to me but I didn't want to find out, I started to thrash and kick. I clawed my way out of the bag and made a run for it, they saw me dash away and they took out a serrated knife and threw it; it hit my ear, next thing I knew I was bleeding, badly.
I ran as far and as fast as I could, I didn't know where but I didn't care as long as I was away from that place. After about a half hour of running I stopped, looked back, and saw they didn't follow me. I laid down to rest and then I remembered my cut, I looked around for a mirror but couldn't see one so I headed away and saw a little pond with katnisses and fish. It was perfect. I trotted over and looked down in the water, I saw that half of my ear was missing and my nose was smashed in, I looked up and saw her, a skinny girl about the age of 14 and she had a bow drawn at me, but right behind her was a smaller, skinnier girl about the age of 9. This one ran up to me and picked me right up, I didn't like it very much, but she asked her sister if we could keep me because I was just so cute. Next thing I knew I was in a small house in a village full of people and a family that loved me a lot (except Katniss).
