Intro to Schiff

The moon glistened highly over the treetops, full. The night had only begun when a loud noise rang throughout the woods. Birds strayed from their shelter for the night and the crickets silenced their songs. Howls could be heard, far off into the distance and then stopped instantly. All this was disturbed by the sounds of a group of beings gliding through the air at a pace so fast that nothing could be seen. Only rushing air could ever show of them existing.

The figures immediately landed at the foot for an old church a few miles outside of the wood. Now that they stood still, their appearances could be made. All looked identical, each with their own dark cloak that had a hood which they all had on. One stepped out of the group and in front of the others. He unveiled his hood and revealed his rugged dark hair that came to his shoulders; His pale eyes showed a hint of satisfactory yet sadness all the same.

"Karman." He said softly to the group of followers who silently stared in acknowledgement. One of the perfectly similar beings came to the front as well, next to what seemed to be the leader. Dangling from his arms was a young girl, no more than her older teens of age. He dropped her to the ground at the leader's feet and took off his own hood. His hair was a dark colour as well, indistinguishable because of the night.

"I took the liberty of knocking her out for you. I would be a shame if some of the villagers overheard and caused a scene wouldn't you say? Moses?"

The man known as Moses looked up from the woman that laid at his feet to Karman, his closest friend. "Yes…" He looked back at the girl and sadness fell over him, shown through his eyes and nonsocial tongue.

Karman put a hand on Moses' shoulder. "You had no choice. If you didn't do what you did, none of us would be alive up till now. It's the only thing keeping us here right now."

Moses said nothing. There was a moment of silence before a scythe unfolded from his cloak and, in an instant, swung down on the girl's neck. The group gathered around quickly and began to devour the spilt blood. In a matter of seconds, it looked as if there had not even been bloodshed to begin with.

Moses looked up at the moon and whispered to himself.

"God have mercy on my soul."
