Date night. With Fabian. Nina was so excited. After the power couple of Anubis had gotten together, every other Thursday night they did something different, something together. It was always something fun, something romantic. They switched times picking who chose what they were going to do. Tonight was Fabian's night.
Nina looked herself over in the mirror one last time. Her hair was curled as normal and pulled back slightly so it wasn't covering her face. She was wearing a red strapless dress with a black belt and she was wearing her black shiny heels. She loved the fact that Fabian was taller than her so she could wear heels on their dates.
Nina took a deep breath and walked out of her room and down the stairs. She smiled as she saw Fabian standing at the bottom in a suit. Her smile turned into a grin when she saw the single rose in his hand. Roses were her favorite flower, she had no idea how he always remembered.
She walked up to him and kissed him softly, blushing slightly as he handed her the rose timidly. The kiss was gentle, like they were both made of glass and could break at any minute.
"Hello Beautiful," he said softly and her hand slide into his perfectly as always and they walked outside of the house and then slid into the cab waiting outside.
"So, where are we going?" she asked, her smile able to be heard through her voice.
"You'll see," was his response and her head leaned on his shoulder for the rest of the cab ride.
As they arrived at the park, Nina still couldn't tell what was going to happen. They got out of the van and Fabian told her to go to the playground part of the park while her set their meal up.
She followed his request and walked one way while he walked the other. Her hair was blowing in the wind and she sat on a bench, looking up at the stars. She loved stars, the fact that everyone on Earth always saw the same ones. Stars weren't one to judge. They were just- there.
Interrupting her thoughts was a guy sitting down on the bench next to her. Her head turned and she smiled politely at the guy, feeling slightly uncomfortable with the short distance between them.
"Hey babe," he said, putting one hand on her thigh. Nina laughed awkwardly and tried to move away but she was as far to the opposite side of the bench as possible. This made her extremely uncomfortable and she tried to find Fabian but his hand moved her head toward him.
He leaned in slightly, expecting her to lean in as well. When she didn't, he forced her to and their lips met in an ugly kiss. There was no feeling behind it and Nina tried to pull away but the guy wouldn't let her.
Suddenly, the light sensation on her lips disappeared and she heard the noise of a fist coming into contact with a face. She gasped and jumped of the bench, seeing Fabian standing there with the other guy on the floor.
"That's what you get for messing with my girlfriend you perv," he said and grabbed Nina's hand to walk away. Nina was shuddering in fear of what would've happened if Fabian hadn't been there to save her. Fabian's arm moved around her shoulder and he pulled her closer to him. "It's okay," he whispered. "I'll protect you."
Nina nodded and they continued walking to the place he had set up. She smiled at the candlelit picnic he set up for the two of them. "Oh Fabian, this is wonderful!" she said and threw her arms around him.
The night flew by and they ate and talked and laughed.
They were closer now than ever before.
Best friends.
And dating.
It was perfection.
