Cellborn

Cellborn

It is a word of fear; of reverence; of disgust.

To be made of wires from a heartless prison was a curse. It haunted those who were unfortunate enough to be born that way.

Finn was lost to his thoughts. No Outside. Incarceron's cellborn. That was a fate that could claim no mercy to its existence. It plagued him. For him to know no freedom was too great a prospect, but he knew that he would go on.

He had to.

He had to know.

Someone had to know.

He no longer cared if that person was Claudia. He would like it to be. She was knowledgeable and whatever connection she felt that they had would ensure her truth telling.

However, that did little to comfort him. He wanted to know more. He wanted to feel more. The position that he was in forced his hand.

He had one path. It went in one direction.

It was a burden that weighted relentlessly upon him. He felt that he would never sleep again, such was its weight and importance.

However, in all his pondering he came to a realisation.

It wasn't the tales of other Cellborn, of the nightmares, of the untimely deaths, that made him so utterly opposed to being Cellborn. It wasn't simply the visions and the belief, that he knew was unfalteringly true, that made him so utterly opposed to being Cellborn.

It was love.

Incarceron was heartless, merciless and it enjoyed the suffering of those it contained. What of love could it possess? Even animals were born of love, some sort of animalistic love, beyond the understanding of humans, but love most definitely.

Love.

Faith.

Trust.

What was humanity without them?

What was Cellborn?

What was he?

Author's Note: I felt like writing and I had just thought that, 'hey, I've already edited that chapter. Why don't I just put the document to good use and type up something?' This is what came...

I like this theory. I'm using it in one of my novels. It's interesting to explore. Love of lust, love of alcohol, love of 'a good time'. They're all forms of love. The odds are that most people have been born from some type of love.

Thank you for reading this piece. I hope that you have enjoyed this. I apologise if I have disappointed you.
