Forget me not
A Phantom of the Opera Poem
By Don Juan's Red Death
A simple rose.
A fallen tear.
A quiet sob that you can't hear.
These are the simple gifts he makes
While you kiss another his heart you'll break.
Gold-blue eyes in a saddened pool.
Of tears, for Christine you are cruel.
A kiss freely given, as his lips warm and your true love's stay cool.
Broken, beaten left alone... he always played the fool.
A father's absence.
A mother's scorn.
Are all he's known since he was born.
Aside he was cast.
With a cold white mask to forever hide his form.
A kiss was all he wanted as a younger boy.
You gave him that kiss and he wept tears filled with bitter joy.
He let you go and now you know where your heart doth lie.
It is too late to stop the tears you have made him cry.
A ring now lies in his palm so twisted, cold and dry.
"Blue." he said, "forget me not."
With those last words your breath was caught.
Tears poured from his gemstone eyes, as he held you close.
With that last embrace, he had let you go.
"Forget me not." said he again, as gently he kissed you.
You looked at him and touched his face, not knowing what to do.
He sends you away, and gives you a flower a bloom of deep dark blue,
"Forget me not," he pleads, "For I shall never forget you."
He handed you his love and you tore it apart.
Leaving him to gather up the pieces of his heart.
He sees that you are leaving him never to return
The tears in his throat cause his voice to burn.
With the last heartfelt deceleration he will ever make,
your unworthy heart his words will justly break.
The night's music is over and morning has begun.
with that last painful note his angelic voice sung.
You leave him in his cavern and hear his soft sad, voice.
That forget me nots are forever and now you've made your choice.
