Above the skies of Tokyo countless swords flew and danced against their opponent.
Selesia Upitiria tried to dodge and outrun her enemy but to no avail! Moving back and forth between countless buildings she spun and weaved but the military uniformed opponent just kept on throwing waves of blades upon her!
With the night air battering her she dove to the ground with all haste blood boiling as she pulled up barley above the ground her single sword still in hand! As she flew centimeters above the surface she turned around and prepared to face her enemy alone!
Out of a recently formed wall of water Selesia's opponent appeared, like no one she had ever faced before, her female opponent was adorned in military attire a large hat on her head with a golden lion at the front. Around her countless blades whirled with a deadly vengeance as if splitting the fabric of reality apart! The most striking feature however was the white-haired opponent's square pupils which perfectly conveyed the emotion of amusement, as if this battle that Selesia's military opponent had called simple was just an inconvenient yet humorous event.
Yes, that was it, unimportant. Merely a song which was being played and which would soon end.
Non the less Selesia without ever stopping in her wingless flight charged! A single blade versus an uncountable number with no sign of hesitation! The hero who thought against the Avalon Brigade was in her element as the two opponents clashed! Sparks flashed sending the two back! Both elegantly recovered and were unfazed with Selesia flipping midair her blade practically cutting the air in two with its sound as it blocked several incoming launched swords!
There was no reprieve however as more waves came at her like a force of nature which could not be stopped, their owner seemingly controlling them with just a thought as she floated in the dark sky merely now observing as if the events were a play for entertainment.
Eventually Selesia had enough and once again flew in with her lone magical blade in hand, her opponent seeming to finally have had enough toying with her put a single blade in hand as if to duel. The two clashed midair! Selesia's sword was under strain and the sound of tapping metal could be heard as the two blades of metal locked with each other. Selesia tried to get the other sword to fail but to no avail with it just staying there even with her putting the anger of losing Vogelchevalier behind her attack.
Her opponent still smiled.
"Answer me! Where is this?! Who are you?! " Selesia shouted without losing any ground in the sharp deadlock.
"I told you already this is the world of the gods your highness Selesia." The girl still with an ever condescending smile replied, her very voice sounding as if it was naturally meant to be that way.
"What nonsense!" The absurdity of the words spoken was all that resinated in the red-haired girls mind.
"Nonsense? Do you think I'm telling a joke? This world is unmistakably the land of the gods, a hideous world in which dubious creature's throng about" The reply this time was not one of condescension but of a completely serious nature, as if a fact was being stated and if Selesia heard right it was hinted with just a bit of anger. The anger, subtle but there, as if taking offense for not being able to see something so horrible right before her own very eyes. Selesia's opponent continued, "You will soon understand, the significance of what I am saying, revolution to your world. Punishment to the land of the gods." As those words were spoken the all too familiar smile appeared, although this time being far more pleasant and relaxed rather than condescending despite the words being spoken.
Unknown to Selesia however despite the claims of having a revelation behind her back multiple identical swords sheened in unison as they aligned on their mistress's command.
As they prepared to strike, BAM!
A massive explosion ripped through the sky blasting away the majority of the swords in orange and red flame. Selesia flew away from her opponent to see a new intruder while several of the military uniformed opponents surviving swords swerved about and around their owner in confusion.
The confusion was short lived however as a confused look once again turned into an all to familiar smirk, "Hm, is that you Meteora?" Off course her opponent already knew the answer thought Selesia with the tense situation being the only thing stopping her from rolling her eyes.
Meteora was dawned in thick blue, green, and yellow clothes. A brown lever belt draped across her waist at an angle and three light blue jewels hung from her shirt. The blue on her clothing perfectly matched her eyes and like Selesia the clothing complimented her natural features as if for the purpose of presentation. The woman had short white hair her face emotionless as she peered down from a higher point in the sky although without any arrogance.
"Have you still not found you creator?" Unfazed by the new arrival and welcoming it in tone Selesia's opponent stood fast even as she was met with an array of 5 rocket launchers frown at her with furry! Spinning blades appearing out of nowhere to easily defend her while the force of the blasts seemed to have no effect as opposed to Selesia who put her hand in front of her face for cover.
"Never mind, even though you and I have both been transported here we still lack sufficient strength and manpower. A riot is precisely what I wish for but the symphony would not sound harmonious without the correct headcount. A glorious song requires the presence of all the players." Then turning to Selesia a sword raised as if to solute in some strange fasion, the golden lion on the hat glinting in the light she spoke, "I shall pay you another visit your highness Selesia, on behalf of this foul world I welcome you with all my heart." The square eyed pupiled girls voice grew deeper as if relishing what was to come. Her words seeming to echo in the heads of her to rivals.
As blue pixels began to form around her body and swords with an alien sound never heard by Selesia's ears, she stopped.
Her head tilted to the side ever so slightly as if she had caught something at the edge of her eye. Letting her square pupils look down below, her face changed from that of a disturbing smile to one being flat and emotionless before some sort of emotional conflict could be seen dominating it. Selesia gazed down along with Meteora to see what their opponent was looking at only to witness the group of civilians where Sota was.
Selesia's mind went into overdrive and dove into those eyes line of sight in fear that the countless blades swirling about were going to be aimed at the civilian populace below!
But as she got in-between a path the twirling blades could take to the people below the silver hair of the girl before her shifted before a less venomous smile took hold of her face.
"It appears I've kept you distracted for far too long. Until next time, I hope you meeting your creators will give you both inspiration," and with that her blades and body glowed blue in pixels and then disappeared, leaving behind two confused and curious individuals.
The corner of Altair's eyes secretly flashed with recognition as her head tilted downward towards the crowd below.
It was then that she saw him, his brown hair and brownish red eyes were unobstructed by the glasses he wore. He did not stand out from the crowd but to Altar he blazed like no other below as a tornado of emotions took hold of her.
He was the one.
He was the one that harmed her so deeply.
He was the one that caused her so much suffering.
He was the one that caused her so much loneliness.
When she needed him most he wasn't there.
If he had just acted she wouldn't have ended her own existence!
Yet he was the one which made her so happy.
The one who helped inspire her in so many ways to begin with.
Altair felt the pain and suffering of her creator, Setsuna, the moment she had learned about how she was abandoned and criticized to no end by everyone else in the world as if she was a horrid thing. The pain and anger clouded every thought Altair had resulting in her emotions being a far cry from when she first emerged into existence.
In the beginning, the very beginning, when she first gained awareness of the truth, the emotion's she had felt were of an indescribable happiness and sensation, of clouded wonder and warmth which she was just experiencing the tips of. Her creator, her creator, her creator who she could feel put every ounce of effort and dedication into herself from hope, to love, to misery.
Misery, the moment she felt it she wanted to not only see her original creator but to comfort her, to show in the flesh her masterful artistry and what she could accomplish alone despite all the hatred frown towards her. When that was taken away from her she had nothing, the clouds faded away ever so painfully slow and she saw the reality that lied before her, and she understood. This world could not even give a single second to help a single soul.
The world was cold, lifeless, horrid, uncaring, merely using their creations to escape from their own ugliness and even then the ugliness shown through into their creations.Whena world or story did not meet their own ideals of perfection they turned on it with a sick vitriol. They saw flaws and mistakes as a reminders of reality, they hated seeing their true selves in the works they created, and like starving carnivores ripping apart the last scrap of food they turned on their creations within moments. where before they pored their love into the world they now pored their disgust, to give themselves satisfaction, to make themselves feel better, that is what they did to her creator, they tortured her and broke her and called her ugly to escape their own selves.
They did this to her.
They did this to the only person she felt anything for.
They did this to her creator!
The emotions she felt when first brought into this world were gone and she never felt them again, she didn't think that she'd ever feel them again, so why did she feel some spark of it when she gazed down upon him.
Sota Mizushino, when she first saw him in The Elemental Symphony of Vogelchevalier she was surprised. When she saw him outside his bedroom window she had barley felt anything. She was too busy with SelesiaUpitiria, but now that the battle was over and her emotions calmed down Altair felt it, something a kin to her creator.
Technically Altair had many people who helped make her, the online web was filled with fan drawings and videos of a dazzling diversity but they were just add-ons in her eyes. Merely people rightfully enjoying Setsuna's work and being inspired by it, but they never created something original in Altairs eyes, they never added to her core, her very being like Setsuna did. They just gave her flashy powers and abilities which helped her in finally bringing about their destruction. How beautifully ironic.
As Selesia blocked her line of sight Altair's thinking was disturbed as Sota was no longer in view.
The warmth grabbed her and made her curious, the feeling of Setsuna being with her finally pushing her over the edge to accept her curiosity of the situation.
A rare truly pleasant smile dawned her lips just before the warmth left her.
"It appears I've kept you distracted for far too long. Until next time, I hope you meeting your creators will give you both inspiration." As much as she despised those creations before her along with their creators and world's she meant the words that she had said with a genuine sincerity. She hoped before the end that they would see things her way, the horridness of their reality and find the love of the person who made them.
Thus, she disappeared.
The only indication of someone being in Sota's room was the slight shifting of a piece of paper and the buzzing of blue pixels. The window to his room still held a hole in it as a result of SelesiaUpitiriadeciding not to use the handle.
The night time breeze flew in cooling the silent room, Altair not making a sound save for the slightest movement of her boots.
Before her lay the contents she desired, a shelf full of countless Manga, video's, comics, novels, and more, all helping to undoubtedly inspire Sota Mizushino in her mind. Her elegant black gloved fingers moved over each cover with silent grace as she began to silently read aloud the titles before her.
"Fairy tail, Fate stay night, Fate Zero, Apocrypha, Grand Order" and on and on, "so that is what inspires you. Altair then moved her fingers up a shelf and found a black folder containing personal deigns and attempts at art work which she flipped through, her eyes focusing on any detail that may have been important. She stopped on a few pages her eyes shaking ever slightly before taking them for their similarities to Setsuna's work.
Her fingers trembled as she did so, yes Setsuna had been inspired by others in her creation but it was Setsuna herself who put it all together, only her. But what was before her said otherwise and as her heart beat ever more violently her hands gripped the drawings before her as is they could be stolen at any moment.
The artistry was not as good as Setsuna's in her opinion but some fleeting concepts were there. A lion on a hat, some designs for gloves, and a red sash. Altair knew about Setsuna's previous creation, the one she was humiliated for and how she looked oh so similar, but before her lay more, idea's which were oh so close or exact to how she looked.
NO! He could have been inspired by someone else, the one who had hurt Setsuna did not have a hand in her making!
But apart of her wanted it to be true, to have that feeling again, and to know more about Setsuna.
Her head turned to the open computer before her. Open for all to access as a result of leaving in a hurry to go after herself. She put the black binder exactly where it was save a few drawings and went on the computer. She scurried through the files looking for the boy's inspiration with the screen perfectly reflected in her eyes.
She found what she was looking for.
Save for the wind entering the room all was silent, then she turned her head to the shelf of Fate manga before her perfectly in sight.
She still wasn't sure yet if he had a hand in her creation but it was becoming ever more likely. If so, how far did it go, was it just a few visuals or did it go to the root of her personality.
There was only one way to know, as she starred at the book's she realized what she would do in perfect detail. Yes, it was perfect. Before her lay multiple worlds within one world. A vast array of possible futures and timelines all accessible though one place, a multiversesized ocean to put her fishing line into and pull back on.
Satisfied with her plan she pulled back to the computer and looked at the screen.A new page was before her making her slightly and delicately put her fingers to the screen. She was one button push away from a stream of messages between Sota and Setsuna. More information on her creator, her creator's own words, and a possible answer to the question that lay before her.
Right, so this story is based of my interest in the relationship between Sota, Setsuna, and Altair which I wanted to see more of. This story is slightly different from the original anime as I gave Sota a part in Altair's creation to develop more of their relationship. This is also how I want to get the Fate series involved as Altair is often compared to Fate characters with her abilities and the wiki even compared her swords to Gilgamesh, along with this the Fate series is in Re-creators as we get to see a certain Caffe.
Sorry there's no Fate in this chapter but there will be in the next one. Hope you enjoyed!
