Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann were planning on taking a brief vacation, to celebrate the one-year anniversary, of their first day. During the past year, Will and Elizabeth had supervised Captain Jack Sparrow's crew. Although Jack was the Captain, he often failed to be responsible, reliable, and trustworthy. Because of that, Will and Elizabeth often volunteered, to guide the crew, protect their teammates, and handle important missions.

Will and Elizabeth each had their own rooms in the ship, since they did more work than anybody. They even did more work than Jack. Some members of the crew secretly thought that Will or Elizabeth would be a better leader than Jack, but they didn't say anything, because they knew Jack would make them walk the plank.

Will entered Elizabeth's room and said, "I think I'm ready. I packed everything, that I could ever need."

Elizabeth had a doubtful look on her face, while asking, "Really? Did you pack a toothbrush?"

Will smiled and said, "With all due respect, not having to clean my teeth is one of the best things, when it comes to being a pirate." Elizabeth put a toothbrush in one of Will's bags, which made him angrily sigh.

Elizabeth asked, "Did you pack a jacket?"

Will answered, "Nah, we're going to be going to sunny places, like beaches and stuff."

Elizabeth replied, "It could always rain, so it's best to be prepared."

Will said, "Okay, but for the most part, I think I have everything."

Elizabeth replied, "To be honest, I'm concerned."

Will looked confused, while asking, "Why? It's not like anniversaries are scary or anything."

Elizabeth replied, "I'm concerned about leaving Jack in charge."

Will responded, "He's the Captain, so he's always in charge."

Elizabeth replied, "I'm afraid what will happen, if he's without supervision, for an entire week. The last time that happened, Captain Barbosa took over his ship and left him on an island."

Will put his arm around Elizabeth, while calmly saying, "Everything's going to be fine. Captain Sparrow is a smart guy, who knows what he's talking about. Although he's a made a few mistakes in the past, I think he's ready to act like a real captain."

Since Will had so much trust in Jack, Elizabeth tried to be open-minded. She said, "Very well then. I'll trust Jack."

After Elizabeth finished packing, she and Will said their goodbyes, to the various members of the crew. The crew was worried about how loopy things would get, without Will and Elizabeth around. However, they also knew they'd have less chores to take care of, which they were excited about.

Will and Elizabeth walked to Jack Sparrow, who was lounging on a chair and drinking a bottle of rum. Jack's mind was so distracted, that he didn't even notice Will and Elizabeth were there, until Will gently touched his hat. Jack looked at them and asked, "What's going on?"

Will answered, "Me and Elizabeth are about to go on our vacation, so we wanted to give you a proper goodbye."

Jack smirked and said, "If you want to give me a proper goodbye, you'll refill my fridge, with some rum."

Will replied, "I hope you drink healthier drinks, during the next week. A little bit of rum might be okay, but drinking five bottles a day is dangerous."

Jack responded, "Listen up, you rule-lover. You and your equally responsible girlfriend have been sucking a lot of the fun around here, thanks to those pesky rules of yours. Although your company will be somewhat missed, your fussy rules won't be. I'm going to party and drink, like a carefree madman."

Elizabeth gave Jack a disapproving look and replied, "You're the Captain and because of that, you have a lot of responsibilities. If I may be frank, you haven't been as hard-working and mature, as you're supposed to be."

Jack replied, "Being a pirate isn't about rules. It's about adventure and fun."

Elizabeth folded her arms and said, "Will and I, along with the rest of the crew, are counting on you to be the Captain, that this ship deserves."

Jack replied, "I'm Jack Sparrow, the great pirate captain, that the world has ever laid eyes on. I'm not going to live up, to your expectations. Instead, I'm going to blow your expectations out of the water, by being more amazing and heroic, than anything you could ever think of."

Will responded, "That sounds great. I wish you the best of luck, Captain Sparrow." He shook Jack's hand.

Jack smirked at Elizabeth and asked, "Can I have a goodbye kiss?"

Will answered, "I'm sorry, but no."

Jack frowned at him and said, "I wasn't asking you." Will couldn't be more relieved.

Elizabeth looked at Jack and said, "If you want a kiss from me, you can kiss your wish goodbye. If you want a slap for good luck, I'd happily provide you with that."

Jack put his hand on his chin and thought about it. He replied, "I guess it's better than nothing." Elizabeth slapped him. Both Will and Jack were surprised, that Elizabeth actually did it.

Will looked at Jack and said, "I'm sorry, but can't ask for a kiss, from someone who's dating somebody else. It's disrespectful."

Jack replied, "I think slapping the Captain should be categorized, as a disrespectful act."

Elizabeth looked at Jack and sternly said, "Be on your best behavior."

Jack replied, "I will."

Meanwhile, Captain Hector Barbossa was having a meeting with his crew. The villainous pirate had been wanting to get revenge on Jack Sparrow, for shooting him and taking his ship back. Captain Barbossa said, "Jack's a real scoundrel and even though I can relate to that, that doesn't mean I wanna be buddies with him. In fact, he's become enemy and when Captain Barbossa has an enemy, he always takes care of him. I'm going to give Jack something, which will seem like a nice gift, but it'll actually be a nice form of revenge, for yours truly." He did an evil laugh.

Meanwhile, Will and Elizabeth used a canoe, to get to land. They grabbed the bags and started carrying them, while heading towards the hotel. However, Will started sweating. Elizabeth turned around and asked, "Are you okay?"

Will answered, "The bags are too heavy. Can't we get rid of the stuff, that we don't need."

Elizabeth replied, "I think we need everything, that's in those bags."

Will opened the heaviest bag and pulled out a dictionary. He said, "It's not like we'll need this, to look up the names of beaches and stuff." He pulled out a telescope and said, "Also, we'll certainly won't be needing this, unless your vacation involves a science experiment. Speaking of science experiments, you packed a few more peculiar things." He pulled out test tubes, beakers, research books, and several other things, that people wouldn't bring on vacation.

Elizabeth replied, "Okay, I have something to admit."

Will asked, "What is it?"

Elizabeth answered, "I packed everything valuable, that I was keeping in the ship, because I was afraid Jack would steal it or break it."

Will was surprised by Elizabeth's lack of trust in Jack, even though Jack had done several questionable things. Will said, "Look, I know Jack isn't the most trustworthy guy in the world or anything. I'd be lying, if I claimed I didn't feel uneasy around him, at certain times. However, Jack's a good friend and is a pretty special pirate."

Elizabeth replied, "Jack means a lot to you, doesn't he?"

Will responded, "Of course he does. He's my second favorite member of the crew. Nobody could top you."

Elizabeth smiled and said, "You're better than me."

Will replied, "Nah, you're unbeatable. Without you, I don't think I'd survive as a pirate."

Elizabeth responded, "I feel the same thing about you."

Will said, "So instead of dying alone, we live together?"

Elizabeth answered, "More or less."

Will smiled and said, "I couldn't ask for anything better."

Elizabeth kissed him and asked, "So, do you think Jack's going to be alright?" Will shrugged his shoulders.

Meanwhile, Jack was driving his ship around, when saw something special, which caught his eye. He saw a small island, that was full of Jack Sparrow merchandise. There were beach towels, blankets, hats, fake gold, and several other items. He saw a group of women, who were looking at drawings of him. Jack had an excited look on his face, while saying, "We're going to that island."

Jack parked the ship and got off the ship, along with the rest of his crew. Jack was so excited, that he started dancing. He was expecting the women to clap, but instead, they cringed at his dancing. He had a confused look on his face, while asking, "What's with the cold reception?"

Captain Barbossa walked up to him, while saying, "Because they women aren't fans of you. I hired them, to pretend to care about you, so I could lure you here and take your ship."

Jack had a smug smile on his face, while saying, "Not a bad plan, but you failed to win."

Captain Barbossa looked confused, while asking, "What are you talking about?"

Jack answered, "Since you told me my plan, my crew and I will fight you off, before you can get your greedy and dirty hands, on my precious ship." Jack turned around and saw that Barbossa's crew had put handcuffs on Jack's crew. Jack turned around and asked, "Are you going to lock me up, along with my crew?"

Captain Barbossa shook his head and answered, "Your crew will be locked up. If they don't agree to work for me, I'll make them walk the plank. As for you, I have a different punishment in mind. Take a good look, at the island you're on."

Jack turned around and saw that Barbosa had left him on the same island, that he had already been absconded on, twice. Jack grabbed a gun out of his hat and pointed it at Barbossa. Jack said, "I have clever plans of my own, so you better be surrendering."

Captain Barbossa pointed a gun at Jack, while saying, "I've always had better aim than you, so you better not risk your life."

Jack replied, "I'll tell you what then, old friend. I'll put the gun away and hang around this island, if you give me every bottle of rum, that's on the ship." Captain Barbossa could hardly believe how petty Jack was, but he agreed to his request. He had his crew pack-up the rum and put it on the island. After all of the rum was on the island, Barbossa left and took Jack's ship with him.

Meanwhile, Will and Elizabeth went back to their hotel room, after enjoying their second vacation day. Although Will and Elizabeth enjoyed spending quality time together, Will could tell something was wrong. Once they got to the hotel room, he looked at her and asked, "What's wrong?"

Elizabeth asked, "What are we talking about?"

Will said, "Believe it or not, I'm an observant person."

Elizabeth jokingly replied, "I wasn't aware of that. How surprising."

Will smirked and responded, "You didn't notice that, because you don't have my observational skills."

Elizabeth looked amused, while saying, "If you were so observant, you'd notice your shirt is filled with sand."

Will looked down at his t-shirt and saw that it was covered to sand, because Will kept it on, while he and Elizabeth were at the beach. Will said, "Wow, my attempt at looking dignified at the beach failed, because I look like a sand collector." He took his shirt off and said, "That's better."

Elizabeth blushed and replied, "You might want to put a new shirt on."

Will blushed with embarrassment and responded, "Not a bad idea." He quickly put on a clean t-shirt.

Elizabeth said, "Anyways, what do you want to talk about?"

Will answered, "You."

Elizabeth asked, "You want to talk about me? I'm flattered. Jack claims you talk about how smart and beautiful I am, when I'm not around."

Will replied, "Jack wasn't supposed to tell you that."

Elizabeth responded, "You don't need to be embarrassed. When you're not around, I tell Jack how wonderful you are. He doesn't stay awake, when I talk about you, but that doesn't stop me from mentioning you."

Will replied, "I'm flattered, but we have a more serious matter to talk about."

Elizabeth asked, "What is it?"

Will answered, "Throughout the day, you were being as charming and wonderful, as you always were, but you seemed a little tired and worried. Something's concerning you, isn't it?"

Elizabeth sighed and replied, "There is, but I didn't want to tell you, because I didn't want to ruin our vacation."

Will put his hand on Elizabeth's shoulder and said, "Being there, to make your worries go away, is more important than any vacation. What's going on?"

Elizabeth answered, "I'm worried about Jack. I know you trust him and I want to trust him too, but I get the feeling, that he's gotten himself into trouble."

Will put his hand on his chin and thought about the situation. He said, "We could use the canoe, to go back to Jack's ship, see if everything's okay, and head back here."

Elizabeth replied, "I couldn't ask you to do that. I don't want you to miss out on a vacation, because of my paranoid anxiety."

Will held hands with Elizabeth, while replying, "I couldn't relax or have fun, knowing you were worried. We're going to take care of those worries and afterwards, we'll have a wonderful vacation."

Elizabeth smiled and responded, "You're the best."

Will replied, "In my eyes, you'll always be the best."

Elizabeth replied, "If your eyesight was better, you wouldn't feel the same way."

Will responded, "My eyes have never looked at anything, that could compare to you." Elizabeth kissed him.

Will and Elizabeth walked out of the hotel, got into a canoe, and started heading to the area, that the ship was supposed to be at. However, after getting to the area, they saw that the ship wasn't there. Will had a confused look on his ship, while asking, "What happened to the ship?"

Elizabeth answered, "I'm afraid Jack lost it."

Will said, "Frankly, I don't get how you can lose a ship. Losing a pencil or a paperclip is understandable, but losing a ship is outrageous."

An hour later, Will and Elizabeth got to the island, that Jack Sparrow was on. They looked around and saw several bottles of rum. They turned around and saw Jack doing a goofy dancing, while covered in beach towels, that had his face on him. Will walked up to him and asked, "What happened?"

Jack answered, "Captain Barbossa played a nasty trick on me, which led to him getting my crew and my ship. I didn't let him keep the rum, so you could say everybody wins."

Elizabeth could hardly believe Jack was okay with losing his crew and his ship, just because he got to keep his large selection of rum. She slapped him and said, "You need to snap out of it. Your crew's in peril and your ship has been taken away. Instead of doing something about it, you're acting like a drunk goofball."

Jack was used to Will defending him, when Elizabeth pointed out his flaws, so he walked up to him and said, "Defend me."

Will replied, "I'm sorry, but Elizabeth's been making a lot of fair points. You inspired me to become a pirate and you're the Captain, so I'll always care about you. However, that doesn't mean I'll defend you, when you do such reckless things."

Jack stuck his hand out and said, "Listen, I got a plan."

Will asked, "What is it?"

Jack answered, "I have enough rum, to last a year. By the time the year is over, I'm sure someone will send a search party or something like that. In the meantime, I get a vacation of my own. I'll have more rum, than any pirate's ever been able to drink."

Will replied, "I have a better idea." He signaled to Jack, to follow him.

Jack stubbornly responded, "I don't want to come along. I have this nice island, a good batch of rum, and self-decorated towels. I couldn't ask for a better vacation." Elizabeth dragged Jack, onto the canoe. Will and Elizabeth started rowing the canoe to land, while Jack threw a fit.

The next day, Captain Barbossa was prancing around Jack's ship, while saying, "Deep down I feel bad for Jack, because he's such a fool. If I was him, I'd feel embarrassed everyday. After all, he's the most easily-tricked simpleton, that I've ever laid eyes on. When you need a laugh, he's not bad. However, when you need a captain, Jack's hopeless." Barbossa looked at the land, that was nearby, and saw a bunch of women, who were wearing shirts, which had Barbossa's name on them.

Like Jack, Captain Barbossa was a shallow man, who was easily distracted by women. He parked the ship. He and his crew got off the ship and started flirting with the ladies, while Will, Elizabeth, and Jack got on the ship.

Captain Barbossa turned around and realized what happened. He said, "You gotta be kidding me. Jack used the trick, that I came up with, to stop me."

Jack asked, "You feel for the trick, that you came up with? Sounds like you're the pathetic one, Captain Barbossa."

Captain Barbossa shook his fist at Jack, while saying, "I'm a better captain than you and one of these days, I'll be in charge of your ship and every other ship, that roams around the sea."

Jack looked at Will and Elizabeth, while saying, "I've been a rum-obsessed slacker, for too long. It's time I put effort, into being a real captain."

Will replied, "I'm glad to hear you're ready, to try harder. I've always believed in you and I wasn't ready to give up on you."

Elizabeth looked at Will and said, "It's time we went back, to our vacation. Now that Jack's going to put effort into his work, I don't have to worry about him, for now."

Will replied, "I'm glad you feel that way."

After getting back to land, Will and Elizabeth started heading to the hotel. Will looked at Elizabeth and said, "You know what? For the past year, everyday's felt like a vacation."

Elizabeth looked confused, while asking, "Why do you feel that way?"

Will answered, "Because everyday I spend with you feels like a paradise, that I haven't earned, but I'm so glad to have."

Elizabeth smiled and replied, "You give my heart a vacation, from stress and anxiety." Will and Elizabeth kissed each other. Even though Jack Sparrow was the Captain of their crew, Will and Elizabeth were the Captain of each other's hearts.
